I’m a Wilder fan so no over-reaction here, but when he gets things wrong he should take some responsibility.
I’m afraid he’s over done the bigging Leeds up, way too much, and he’s still at it,now, after the game. For my money he’s handed Leeds 3 of the 4 halves we’ve played against them, by paying them too much respect.
On the plus side his starting 11 were the right calls and he set us up perfectly in the first half, and to be honest Leeds looked nervous and nothing special. We looked more cautious after the break, and totally handed the initiative to them on the hour with those bewildering substitutions. Diaz was causing em all sorts of probs and to take him off for an unfit Hamer, was daft and Campbell coming off for Cannon, another mistake.
He will inevitably say the withdrawn players couldn’t play more than an hour, which is his usual get out of jail card, when he can’t resist tinkering and his subs go wrong, but I don’t buy it.Both players looked far from done when they were subbed, and we were still matching them.
Hope this doesn’t derail what has been a great season so far.
In Wilder we trust, but please, cut out the over the top bigging up the opposition, and the tinkering for tinkering’s sake.
