He's had 3 games, what did people expect our new signings to do, come in and instantly be the best players in the squad?

Give him time, he's 22 and already proved that he can score goals at this level.

He had a chance to chip a ball into an open goal and just didn't bother... I think 50% of our fans would have scored it

Early days and stuff but let's all be honest he's not up to it, it's obvious, he's crap ... Brewster 2, he should be a sub for the remaining games or he's going to cost us
Twoster?

Still early days but what stood out today was that he often looked unsure where and when to make runs. Not that there many to consider.

Hold turn shoot for one. Jump slightly and head goal wards from 8 yards would be another. Play in JR with an easier chance from 25 yards maybe another.

I was quite vocal in the Cannon rumour thread. I thought we were massively overpaying for him as I’d watched him 6/7 times this season and apart from being a good finisher he always looked really passive.

I actually think it’s pretty harsh to judge him on the 3 games he played for us so far though as they’ve been pretty fucking dreadful team performances so far where he’s had next to fuck all service.

If you’re going to buy a poacher / finisher type striker you’ve got to at least try and play to their strengths.

Do think Campbell is still our best option though and he was £10m cheaper

The Stoke fans said exactly the same…..then he started scoring for them.

The generall consensus was he doesn’t do much apart from score….but he needs setting up with chances.

Apart from Hamer our midfield was dogshit today.
Poor defensively and ineffectual in moving the ball forwards.
Give Cannon the service, and hopefully he'll come good..

Does anybody honestly expect him to score more than 4 goals or so?

I certainly don't. Partly because we don't create chances and partly because he's not very good and is reliant on others creating for him. Which makes him a truly astonishing choice for us to spend 10m on, in our situation, in January

Wilder's going to have to be brave enough to drop him when it proves necessary because if he leaves it until the last 3 or 4 games it'll probably be too late

Spot on wilder needs to drop him asap .. write it off as another drunken signing and play someone else

I don't this he's a bad player we just don't play to his strengths. We created nothing today or even got the ball up to him. I know he need to get into positions ect get there but when we create nothing don't judge him yet. If he's missing chances left right and centre then yes I'd agree untill I see that I can't agree with that

He’s already contributed. A lovely assist vs Derby and today got the ball out of his feet quick to her Brewster in for the cross.

Definitely a couple of times today on goal he could have shown more and I know we paid a lot. But he’s hardly looking a lost cause.

Like someone else said is it all too much to ask for a bit of style to get you out of your seat?

When we speed the ball up and move it faster with one touch passing and also the quick counter attacking we did at the start of the season. Then it looks like we have a style of play but we want to spend most of the time passing sideways at the back and go nowhere.

I am not sure Wilder fully understands this group isn't the same as that great team that got us promoted in 2019. He does actually have a lot of players in the squad with very good footballing ability that can play one touch quick football.
