The same Campbell that only managed to score 4 goals all season at Stoke last season?

Maybe Cannon is pretty good if he can get more goals at Stoke than Campbell managed last season?
Yeah, the same Cannon that got 6/8 at Preston the season before this one.

Stoke played Campbell as a winger?

Why are we overspending? It's the market price. If the new owners can afford it ( and at this time we have no idea) then it's not a problem.

Sorry mate crossed wires, I’m not saying we are overspending, I’m commenting in general on the ones in here saying we are overspending

“You’ve only got to look at Haaland got with MC”
First of all you've misquoted him he actually said
. Just look at what Haarling just got from MC... ridiculous

You've also. Taken. It out of context his full quote is

Today is silly money time. Just look at what Haarling just got from MC... ridiculous. Its the same over the pond here in the US with American Football, Basketball, Baseball, and to a lesser extent, Hockey.

It's pretty obvious he isn't drawing comparison between either as players, human beings or physical specimens

He is talking about how money has gone crazy in the game
Not sure how you have missed that

Sunderland say we have got him

Sheffield United's bid for striker Tom Cannon has
been accepted by Leicester City.
The Blades have gone to £13 million including bonuses and are expected to speak to the forward immediately.
Cannon is still on a Premier League wage with the Foxes and has three and a half years to run. But he wants to play and could even take a cut.
United's offer is preferred to Sunderland's who wanted a loan now with a buy on promotion. They may come back with an instant deal but that is considered unlikely.
Burnley have yet to follow up an interest while Premier League clubs are also watching
developments but yet to move in.
Cannon has just been recalled from Stoke and the Potters are hoping that all of his options collapse and he returns to them on loan.

That was my point in my post, thanks Frank, for that clarification.

At the end of the day, if you don’t spend, you don’t win. It’s a chess game at best but to win you have to play the game.

It certainly helps if you have financially secure ownership and typically American ownership is that…..

I haven’t missed what he were saying. I’m saying you can’t compare what Haaland has received, to what we’re paying for Cannon. Not sure how you missed that.

He hasn' he has said moneys gone silly In the game and used halland as an example

Leicester papers saying it’s a done deal and Lestuh fans aren’t happy 👌

I think we may have got played on this one if we end up signing him on a permanent deal. I expect the interest from Sunderland was a half arsed bid to get the price up on the purchase option of the loan.

Now we have been pushed into signing him permanently when we probably only wanted him on a loan to buy. I reckon Soton are trying to do similar with BBD.
Like the time Liverpool bid for Haaland and Bellingham just so Man City and Real Madrid had to pay more... Oh how we all laughed

All these people saying - he scored 4 in 1 game and rest were penalties...

Picture this - Weds 0-4 Blades. Cannon (4 pens)

Who complains?
Who complains?

People on this forum that's who. 4 pens would mean we haven't played football that's attacking and positive enough because we should have scored 4 in open play

Yeah, the same Cannon that got 6/8 at Preston the season before this one.

He went on loan to PNE in January and bagged 8 in 20. A very healthy return.

Can someone tell me how many penalties he’s scored this season, don’t think it’s been mentioned..
Also, is this the lad who scored 4 in one game?

It's almost as if those ones don't count isn't it?

I'd remind folk we've missed 2 penalties this season (1 in a crucial game) and also didn't manage a single goal against Portsmouth...

Cannon's just shy of a 1 in 2 record at this level and only turned 22 a few weeks ago.
He's not the finished article, but he clearly has something..

"4 goals in one game" - fair enough, but they were very good goals that I don't think any of our lads get.

Created one of the goals he didn't score by pressing the GK into a mistake.
Won a penalty and bagged it. Tucked it away right into the corner.. keeper no chance.
Scored direct from a FK.
Two really well placed finishes off his weaker foot. One after a great run in behind the defence. Hamer & O'Hare will find those runs.

Genuinely don't understand why people don't want him.

That 2nd goal in the clip. O'Hare plays those through balls 4 or 5 time in a game. Moore just stops cos he can't get onto them.

Then his 4th. Moore would take 4 touches before laying it off backwards.

I'm very happy if Cannon signs.

Thats exactly what I thought to be fair
Might help us to be able to press from. The front for once as well

Outstanding, we’ve got to get behind the lad. He’s not responsible for fee only for playing for SUFC and scoring goals on our behalf.

No probs getting behind him 56 and I will.

I’m just questioning what he’s done thus far to label him outstanding? His record is far from outstanding

I remember after penalties didn't count anymore people also started to say the same for free kicks for James Beattie.

They count and also from some of the clips I've seen Cannon wins a good few of those penalties.
