I absolutely agree. We 100% a striker like him. I just don't see the positive for Everton to uproot him just to send him to another Championship side. Just for him to have to settle in allover again. I understand Villa doing it with Barry to send him a division higher in Jan, I just don't fancy our chances with this one.
Can't see any positive for. Everton either but then again he doesn't play for Everton he's a Leicester player

Everton? Anyway it’s already reported that Leicester will only recall gloom from Stoke to do a permanent deal. So I guess we are going to find out very soon how much dosh our new owners have!

I think Leicester payed around £6-7 million for him last year, but they hardly used him, not surprising given that they had Vardy, Daka and Mavididi.

If Leicester do sell surely they'll want to get their money back on him, especially as we could be seen as having more money (and be more willing to spend it) now that we have new owners.

Forgot he went to Leicester.
So people are thinking purchase rather loan.

Canons 5 year contract with Leicester expires 2028. Deal from Everton was an initial £6m with up to £1.5m in (which will obviously not have been triggered).

If they will only recall him from Stoke to sell on a permanent deal then you have got to think a minimum fee of £4m to £5m....not sure we would be prepared to spend that much unless there were outgoings...

does seem leicester will only sell but think we might try and persuade em to loan with view to buy getting cannon and brereton in definetly increases our chances of top 2 lets see if rosen and eltouky are serious in getting us back to the premier league

What does Cannon actually add? Do other people see something that I'm not when I'm watching Stoke?

He's in and out of games, a large portion of his goals are either pens or were in one game against Portsmouth and he's way too inconsistent - which is what we already have

Not sure I agree with that?
Strikers are often “in and out of games”
One could argue Campbell is in and out of games but still scored 6 in 8
Many strikers have quiet games and how much they are in the game is dependent on how much service they are getting
Arguably, Cannon could become a better player in a better team?

He's their focal point and Stokes only proper striker - the fact that he only has the goals he has highlights how poor he is

Factor in that I've watched him and he can't hold the ball, can't play people in and doesn't seem to be where he needs to be most the time - I'd steer way clear

Fair doos Nerdy

I said similar about a few of our players last season. They’ve proved me wrong this season

We’ll see what happens, but if it’s true Wilder was after him prs season I’m absolutely certain he’ll still be interested today

BBD starts left and cannon centre. Their movement wokld allow them to interchange and press
Have you seen Cannon switch around with Manhoef and Koumas or whoever the fuck Pelac used as wingers?

His best strength is little runs in behind, you wouldn't want him drifting anywhere

Bloody hell! Every thread I read about potential striker signings someone is saying they’re no good.

So that’s Barnes, McBurnie and Cannon that ain’t good enough. Is there anyone out there that’s good enough for us?

It really doesn’t matter tho what us plebs think. What matters is what Wilder thinks, whether these players are on/still on his radar and how much these new owners are willing to back him?

I just don’t understand people’s expectations, we’d all love the new owners to spend £20m on a proven striker but I just don’t think that’s realistic.

If we got McBurnie or Cannon, I think the majority of fans would be pretty happy with that in addition to BBD and 2 or 3 other players.

Strikers fail or flourish with the system played by the manager. Imo I think Moore is the wrong fit for our slow build up, he needs wingers getting to line and whipping crosses in. He rarely gets that but when he does ie other night he scored a belter.

Wilder (Des?) might see him as the right fit to complete our system whereas Moore doesn’t.

stoke are awful how many goals are you expecting him to score in a team like that all about different opinions on players if wilder rates him and brings him in lets give the lad a chance and would also like to know who you would bring in for the same money ???

We need to sign a striker who will share the workload with Moore and scored half a dozen goals.

I think people need to temper their expectations. We're not buying a world class striker.

Our first VI has got us to the autos. We just need squad depth to allow players to be rested and managed. Take the pressure off. That's it. It's the JTW. You rarely get a good deal on a player. We wanted Canon in the summer. If we can get him on loan now it's very good business. Scored gals for two poor teams at this level.

The thing with Stoke is they're a poor side now, under Pelac (apparently not under Shawcross)
Under Schumacher they were much better and even then he didn't look great

Nothing last season or this season has me convinced he's worth the outlay - I'd rather go with a more proven option like a McBurnie, or a last resort back up of a Barnes, or go and get someone with a bit of something about them and a track record

yeah fair enough respect your opinion ive just got a different one but i certainly wouldnt pay over the odds for cannon but do think he would get goals in our system the other striker im slightly interested in is awoynimi at forest which another poster suggested other day hes proven at this level

That's the beauty of football mate - not agreeing!

I'd happily be proven wrong about him tbh, but either way if he dons a blades shirt he gets my full support and my previous opinion goes out the window!

If Awoynimi is available, snap their bloody hands off for him!
