Superb again today.

Really?
We had 37% possession at home to Plymouth. We had zero control of the midfield throughout.

I'm not meaning to be too critical of Davies. Given the context, he's doing well. But strip that context away and I thought he & Peck didn't do nearly enough for us.

He'll improve as his match sharpness returns, but it's still an area we need to strengthen in January.
Without Souza & Arblaster we look a long way off where we need to be.

I felt he did what he did really well. Won us the pen too. I understand we didn’t control much of that game but I also don’t think we looked like we were gonna concede either.

If we've got players who are able to come in and make a game seem easy, even if we know we aren't our best, we're on to a winner. Davies easing himself back in and being able to replace Souza when he's not played for a year, regardless of the opposition, is absolute quality. That depth we said we didn't have, we do now.

I'm the first half they had a couple of really good chances.

Second half less so, but they still made Cooper pull off a very good save, and went close with one in the side netting.

Xg wise, we were only higher than them due to the penalty. They definitely looked like scoring.

If you have 38% possession at home against Plymouth, I don't think you can single CMs out for praise.

Let’s just hope Souza is back for our next home game (and Anal) as that depth will be found wanting - Plymouth are not a good team and bossed the middle of the pitch constantly finding gaps
If fit for Burnley I’d start Souza n Davis

Agreed both he and Peck were fairly anonymous today.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see, imo there's no point in judging our depth on whether or not players turn out next week until we get there. We might have a fill quota next week, but you're already writing us off with ridiculous whataboutery

Tom and Peck are very similar, whereas Vini gives us more presence. Considering the injuries to have the results of the last month has been exceptional. Going forward it will be Vini and Tom or Peck, until Blaster is back.

I thought he got runaround in the 1st half but was better 2nd. 5 or possibly 6 out of 10 IMO.

We were outnumbered in midfield in the first half. That wasn’t on Davies & Peck. When we switched things up for the 2nd half they both had a far better time.
I really disagree with this. They lacked discipline and too often both were up field when we lost the ball or were easily bypassed.
It was imbalanced in both halves because they both wanted to push on when we were on the ball. Sydie desperately needs a rest and some games coming off the bench.

Given his backstory - expecting more than you got today extremely harsh.
He was great - competent, played it simple, harried all match and won a pen.
Tremendous effort from him and deserves a massive pat on the back.
Will get better and better Tom will play a huge part this season. No complaints whatsoever, totally glad to have him.

Most of Plymouth's possession were in their first third of the pitch. They were creative in the wings not through the middle

Davies is a key player in our squad

I was reasonably impressed with him, but he looks more like he should be vying for Peck's spot rather than Souza's.

Yep, I like both Davies and Peck but. our central midfield were pretty shocking today and would have been completely overwhelmed by a top half side.

Not writing anyone off - Peck badly needs a rest and Davies is just returning. But that midfield is a shadow of Souza and Blaster at the moment.

If Souza isn’t back for the next couple of games I’d be tempted to mix things up formation wise, possibly bringing Hamer into a three in the middle or something.

Can’t fault the effort and commitment though. We’ve been fantastic all season and Wilder is managing us through these games excellently. Three games in six days is ridiculous, especially with two away.
