Anel gone awol.

Sounds like Anel has gone public about some issues that clearly have an impact on his mental health, so it's heart warming that we have a "fan" who's prepared to give up his free time to post a "YouTube" video, if we hang around long enough maybe our "fan" site will find time to do something about Gary Speeds death? Fuck me another low point for our fan sites mind you least he hasn't charged a tenner.

They can't be desperate for content either at the moment when the takeover looks to have collapsed. The fact neither SUW and Jimmy are in a rush to do content on the takeover, highlights perfectly how they are under the thumb of PA.

Fucking disgusting.

I had a great dad. Can’t imagine where my life would be without him. I feel sorry for anyone who has gone through anything like this. Fuck deadbeat dads. I was completely wrong about Anel and hold my hands up completely. I hope he gets a great reaction on Friday.

That fucking video needs taking down. Disrespectful shite. Dont matter if its united or not, making fucking drama out of someone’s plight is a cunts game. That thumbnail is a prime example.
And the sad thing is what we know about his dad is only a mere snapshot. Imagine growing up with a cunt like him as a dad. The other sad thing is I have seen 'men' saying Anel needs to grow a pair. Knuckledragging wanks.

True but we are not all psychic either, fans can only react to what they see on the pitch or react to whatever his father was chatting.
Fans rarely, if ever, know the full facts about anything that’s going on. The vast majority are respectful and stick to criticising performances. But there is a small number of full weight cunts who resort to vile personal abuse. We’ve even had some nobber recently suggesting that a player couldn’t possibly have mental health problems because of the money he earns. I think a few need to take a look at themselves.

This is what makes the video even more distasteful and crass. They get interviews with players and the owner, so they are connected to an extent.

They can see that everyone is pretty much bored with the takeover saga, no game to talk about. So jumped on this , with pure clickbait. A thumbnail right out of the News of the World, 1980s playbook.

Too many people think money = happiness.

It takes the sting out of being poor for sure but it doesn't stop your old man being a total cunt.

I've just watched it, all Hal has done is read out the statement Anel made and quoted some of Danny Halls article, he's not 'picked the bones' out of anything, that was probably just an unfortunate turn of phrase to use, he's not speculated on anything or said anything we can't already read in the public domain. He gave about a minute of opinion where he basically said it's tough to hear about someone going through such a difficult situation with their family, and that's pretty much it.

I get everyone is probably a little protective with Anel at the minute, which is nice to see, but I think some are being a bit overly sensitive about a fan channel covering Blades related news.
So why do it if not adding anything? It's just self serving, and ill judged in this instance.

I don't know, I'm not SUW. I'll let YorkBlade answer that if he wishes to, hopefully more gracefully than Ramble responded to the grief he was getting.

I've not watched it, but as it's described can't see what's wrong with what he's done. The statement is in The Star and on this thread. He's done exactly the same on his outlet and just read it out, with some kind of short simple support comment.

Sheffield United youtuber that regularly makes videos about Sheffield United news makes a video about Sheffield United news and people are getting their knickers in a twist about it? Really?!

It’s not Sheffield United news. It’s a Sheffield United players personal issues that he felt he had to explain and then asked people to leave alone.

But there was a show to be had.

Yet no one has any issue with this being in 'General Blades Chat' or the thread remaining unlocked to freely post their opinions on here 🤷‍♂️

In fact I would say alot of posts in this thread have been alot more opinionated then anything mentioned in the video.

It's not a case of investigative journalism that's "exposed" Anel and the issues he's been facing, it's something that Anel himself put in to the public domain. Hal has used his platform to talk about it. And it certainly is Sheffield United news as it gives some insight in to how one of our best/most valuable players contributed heavily to the most embarrassing season in our club's history.

Some people like to read the star website and navigate around hundreds of irritating adverts, others like it to be presented in audio/video form so there's definitely a large number that appreciate the format.

And regarding the "show to be had", well that's simply the nature of social media and how it works. If your youtube channel (or Instagram profile, or twitter account etc) goes quiet the algorithms can bury you, so if there's something to report then that's what you do, particularly as it's Sheffield United news on a Sheffield United news channel..

Where has he asked people to leave it alone?

“I did not want to make this public nor do I think it should be public.“

“, I do not have the energy or the will to continue with this drama anymore.”

He didn't ask people to leave it alone, he said that he didn't want to make it public but felt he had to. And so a statement that he has made public has been reported on by Sheffield United supporter led news channels, both SUW and Jimmy Ramble have covered it and both were supportive of Anel, mirroring general fan sentiment.

I think it's weird the way people are reacting. They're fans and they put their fandom online for others to watch.

Something the player wishes he hadn’t had to put in the public domain but felt he had too. As for “picking the bones out”, was that an actual comment on SUW’s website. If so, it was crass as well as poor judgement on someone’s part.

You really think he’d want it bandied around by the chosen few when he clearly only revealed it because of attacks on his family.

And let’s stop pretending the two you quote are news channels. Hardly anything you can’t have already read on here and constant reminders they have the ear of the owner. Ego driven these days. Interviews and match preview/reports are one thing bullshit and gossip another. Their takeover “view's”and vague Itk leaks show that.

YorkBlade has sunk to the levels of the gutter press by doing this, absolutely no need, preying on the personal lives of others just for "likes" is nothing short of pathetic. Hope you are proud Hal.

It's gone up from 1.5k to 1.7k views on youtube in the last 40 minutes. That's what they're after.

As much as a journalist or channel would like to cover a story like this, I doubt anyone at the Sheff United Way would want anyone prodding around in their personal lives, even if they had released a public statement.

I don't even watch them really, so ai don't know why I'm defending them, but I just don't see what they've done wrong. They're fan channels, they discuss the things that fans are talking about. They aren't professional news outlets as you point out, and I suppose that makes them more prone to errors of judgement like Hals comment announcing they'd be doing a video on it.

But getting all holier than thou because they dare discuss a players personal situation that said player has released a statement about is a bit ott. I get it might not be for everyone and some might think it's better to just jot say anything, but it's to be expected and I don't think it's particularly wrong, they've not said anything that is anything other than supportive of Anel and for fans who follow their channels, they have probably helped galvanise support for him, which is a good thing imo.

I think that's a bit harsh mate.

At the end of the day Anel has put out a public statement and chose to reveal what has been happening with his Dad. It's uncomfortable stuff (at best) but you can't blame supporters for wanting to talk about it. That is bound to play out on social media, as it has on here, and it's not realistic to expect a you tube channel dedicated to the club not to pick this up too.

Besides, the video has a very positive and supportive feel about it, and doesn't feel exploitative, in my opinion anyway.

Disagree, he might not have picked the bones out of Anels private life and if all he’s done is reiterate and recycle the stuff that’s already in the public domain then why bother other than to jump on the bandwagon and get clicks?

Plus I don’t think it’s being over sensitive to express an opinion that he didn’t want it in the public domain, it’s respecting his wishes to privacy.
If you're a fan channel, you'll have subscribers who come to you for news about stuff.

There are things I follow loosely and only find out about when a YouTube channel posts, I watch all my political news on YouTube exclusively, for example.

Ultimately it's all for clicks, but besides the clickbait thumbnail and title there's nowt out of the ordinary there.

Anel has presumably released this statement so people (particularly Blades fans) would read it. He wishes he didn't have to, but he obviously feels it's best at this point.

Would he take issue with a SUFC fan channel spreading it, this being the case? Not seen anything to suggest as much.

There’s a school of thought that you’re more likely to suffer from mental illnesses such as depression when you have money.

The thinking is that if you’re poor then all of your thoughts go into merely surviving and you don’t have the mental capacity to think about being depressed and the like.

When you move out of survival mode you start to ‘want’ rather than ‘need’ and this is where issues start to form.

It doesn’t say that you can’t be depressed if you’re in poverty as it accepts that it’s mentally draining to be battling to stay afloat, but there’s probably something in the theory that successful people with the pressures they put on themselves are likely to be unhappy under the veneer.
