Anel gone awol.

As someone who grew up under a narcissistic sociopath, was put through incredibly similar things in my own life and career, and eventually cut ties as well...I can't praise what Anel has done enough.

To not only face the issue and make the decision, but to shine a light on it so intensely (and with a platform as big as his) - takes some serious balls.

Get in lad, well done. You've got all the family you could ever need at BDTBL 💪🏻⚔️

(We're all Sweden aren't we!)

His wife also put something on her insta story about all the hate she has received because he hasn't played for his country. Feel for both of them, can't have been a nice situation 😕

Top lad, took some balls to make that statement.

And on top of the awful shit with his dad, annoying to read about how he was treated by the Bosnian medical team - how many times have we had our players come back from international duty crocked?!

I think we have had Fleck, Egan and Stevens comeback crocked after international duty in recent times.

I would argue Fleck's international duty injury is what started his demise with his fitness.

There’s certainly a new spin on the “my old man, said be a Wednesday fan” song in there to be worked on.

A lot of us (myself included), saw his performance levels drop last season (he wasn't the only one) and saw his dad's statement about wanting to leave, and put 2+2 together and got 5. We assumed his performances weren't as good as his usual standard because he'd lost interest.

Happy to admit I was wrong. As someone else point out, it just goes to show we have absolutely no idea what goes on behind the scenes. Wilder got a lot of stick for giving him the captaincy last season and now we know more of the facts, it's clearly good man management and showing Anel he's valued and loved here. This does come off from his statement about how much this club / city means to him.

Really happy to have been proved wrong and we've seen already this season glimpses of how good the lad is.

Minutes applause 15th minute at Hull if not why not

He's not dead... 😂 ...just get behind the lad, hopefully after getting all that lot off his chest and out in the open he will be a bit lighter and play with the determination we saw when he first signed.

I don't think, (someone might well check) I have ever slagged Anel or given him too much flack, always hoped he would get back to the player he was and fingers crossed we see it now....early signs this season are certainly promising.

Well, when he leaves and goes to a fierce rival, there will have never been a better candidate for the song, “Your Dad’s a cunt, and so are you!”

But until then, chin up bud, we’ve got you 🫡👍🏻

Does make you wonder if he ever wanted to play for Bosnia. Mum is Swedish, born in Malmo, played through the ranks for Sweden as well as one cap for the full team....then ends up a Bosnian international (maybe pushed by his dad?).
You'd think he'd have done well/got into the Sweden squad plenty and a better team overall in recent years - shame for him if so

Thought this as well.

Explains a lot he didnt have to do that but fair play to him for being honest. The apparently true bit about his Father taking a "bribe" to get Anel to change agency in Italy just shows you what he might be like.

Friday if he plays and I hope he does he needs massive backing from our fans to show we are nothing like his national team fans. Also sounds like their medical staff is terrible.

Just seen part of a translation on his dad's response claiming his kid isn't even his now. What a shitshow!

I think we should all show our support on Friday at Hull with 45 minutes none stop chanting

"Oh we love Anel, we do, oh we love Anel, we do. Oh we love Anel, we do, ooooh Anel we love you!"

Or

“If you’re up for Anel clap yer hands”
(repeat)
