Just because there's been no leaked rumours of other replacements (besides Mepham and Cannon) doesn't mean we don't have other alternatives lined up.

Transfer deals are like pieces of string, there's no set time of how long they take for any club, including United.

People were mentioning about how Leeds quickly signed Bogle when that deal went through, overlooking the fact that Leeds would have been talking to him and United about a deal well before the journalists found out about it.

I think it's more frustrating that we don't know what's going on behind the scenes, especially in this day and age with the internet and social media picking up on news/rumours quite often.

Appreciate the squad is thin but we have got rid of a good few of the shocking signings from last season that we couldn't wait to see the back of, (Slimane, Traore, Trusty) hopefully Grbic will get a loan move at least as well and that continues to clear the dross out ready for a fresh foray in Jan.

When will the penny drop? Based on FFP restrictions we have more money than Stoke or Hull, we're also a bigger club than those 2 with more chance of promotion. So it's no surprise that Cannon would prefer to play for us.

If he's based around Liverpool and plays at Leicester, you'd imagine that Stoke is geographically the best and Hull the worse....might make a difference.

We've had a long target A, target B and target C player list since well before the season ended.
Target A are the best players and usually have loads of options.....many won't give an answer and prefer to wait to see what options they have.

What should we do in that situation.....instantly move to target B...what if they want time...do we move to target C?
Our general strategy has been to stay patient and hang in there.

We've managed to bring on most of our A targets this Summer, which is impressive.
However at some point we will miss out and will need to move on to target B.
It's a balancing act and can be a bit mad but the club can only do it's best.

Looks like we've ended up with stokes cast off and they get probably our main striker target says it typical utd not typical so called moaning fans ,trusty and slimarne might not be 1st choice but we'll probably have a weaker squad than we kicked off at Preston

Losing Slimane wont make us weaker as he offered nothing and it means Wilder will have to bring someone else on in his place now. Trusty might've been ok in this league but was god awful last season so £6m is great business. We've had a pretty good transfer window all in, just could do with a ST and some more depth rather than relying on the u21s.

So you think the CEO is so stupid and experienced he only draws up 1 list of 1st choice targets
and assumes we're going to be successful on every occasion.

Of course we have several options lined up as back up.....just wait and see.
The problem will be if and when we do bring in another striker.....then our fans will be angry thinking we've been desperate
but that's how it works....nothing in life runs smoothly all the time.

Well not up to now no ,we are a bit thin but we have brought in about 10 players which is some feat but we are still well short . Have to wait and see if we are able to bring in another couple . My concern is who might leave ,we have lost two but not the most important ones that have attracted most attention , well not up till now anyway .
