Johnstone has had two sub appearances in the league and one in the cup and not really made any impact.

Cannon doesn’t seem to have settled at Stoke at all.

Sarmiento probably best of the lot with 2 goals from 4 games. However that’s 1 goal in the league cup to lowly Crawley and the equaliser against tomorrow’s opponents but still hasn’t yet managed a starting spot.

I’m pretty happy with our lot to be honest right now.

I’m quite looking forward to seeing a bit more of Campbell as well to be honest. I know it’s only the u21s but his finishing looked pretty potent on what evidence we have so far.

Last night aside he's not had a good start, but he's obviosuly the "type" of striker we're crying out for. Every report on Campbell suggested he was better out wide and he didn't look like a central lone striker last night (though I won't judge him too harshly on last night - he still managed opportunities to score).

Brewster is that "type" in theory and has been encouraging in his last two cameos, but as always we await the inevitable ping of the hamstring. I'm sure Chris has a list of potential options in Jan, but I'm sure that list will be the same as half a dozen clubs in the league

Showed what he was all about last night, runs in behind, two great feet, able to get a hard & accurate shot off early.

Rumoured that we could have had him on a permanent deal for £5-7m. Criminal we didn't at least bring him in on loan when it became obvious the takeover wasn't going to go through... all the chat was that we were his preferred choice.

He would have made a big difference to our forward options.

I liked him when he was at Preston on loan, and thought he would be a very clever signing. Then I found out that apparently wanted £8m....

I suppose a loan was feasible but then I suspect that they would have wanted a couple of million just for the season loan. If it was January and it was looked as as being the bit that would push us over the line then absolutely I would expect us to find the money and pay that £1m half a season loan fee. As we had a new squad and owt could happen at the start of a new season, again absolutely the right decision for a money conscious football club to veto the deal. We can all be experts with hindsight.

Get BBD back in January anyway. He's the one.
