For what it's worth, I don't hold the celebrations against Deano - he owed us nothing. I still think he should have stuck with us for his whole career though.

You have to remember though that he was from Leeds and Leeds had won the first division just before it became the PL of course. Deano with us was fighting relegation and I'm fairly sure he just felt he needed another challenge at a club who could challenge for honours etc.

Hate saying all of that and I note we finished above Leeds in Deano's last season with us but then Leeds went onto the qualify for the champions league etc although not sure if Deane had gone by then. The reception he got from our fans, me included, was really harsh looking back but it just hurt him joing Leeds especially as we'd always lost our better players to them.
