I came too the conclusion years ago and I would say its more than half of our fan base, know naff all about football.
They would sooner have someone who runs about alot and can kick the ball down field and show a bit of "Passion".
Alot of our fans are like lemmings once a player starts too get criticised they jump on the band wagon and follow suit, it sort of reminds me of the fast show sketch when they are in the pub talking about something and one guy mentions who in his opinion is the best then someone else has a different opinion and he immediately agrees with them.
I'm really going too put my tin hat on now with Souza there is a player in there.
Now I'm not saying he should be playing for Brazil or even our player of season (I hope we aren't even having a player of the season) but there is something there and let's face it he's been playing in arguably the worst Premiership side ever, but I think with better players around him he would be ok. He'll get his move away but it will be interesting as to where he ends up and how he gets on..
Sublime footballer can see him ending up with a solid mid table premiership club would be a good fit for such as Fulham

Nobody has this season but that is what alot of our fans would rather have over Skill and technology ability..
By that I mean slagging Berge off but loving Booker, Gannon, Montgomery etc
Its what Wilder wants too.....he said in his after match interview "i want players that run" he said other atributes too but cant remember them as much as this "run" attribute.

Spot on. I’m always amazed when people say that we just want to see effort and commitment at BDTBL. I want to see my team playing attractive attacking football…I want to watch players that can do what I could never do, I want to watch TC, Sabella and Illiman showing off their skills. If it’s just about getting stuck in I’ll watch the rugby.

I’ve seen some very damning feedback thrown his way. Waste of space, useless etc.

I think there were expectations from some that he almost single handedly should be doing his role plus the role of others. An offensive and defensive powerhouse. Defensively he had room for improvement, i wouldn’t argue against that. But that’s not his qualities. His passing and progressive play was. I don’t know many midfielders that have all those attributes at a high level. And if they are then they are most likely at city etc.
He definitely had those attacking attributes and I'm sure most would agree, we didn't see enough of those either though. When we did see it, he was unplayable at Championship level but that was quite few and far between.

But there's no point having skilful players if there's no hard work. The team will lose. Thousands of very skillful players get released every year by clubs because they can't/won't/don't run.

And on your last point, not even an apocalypse could get me to watch Rugby as a last resort.

We fucked this lad around something chronic and tried to shoehorn him in to a RCM role that he was unfamiliar with and indifferent to. Cos he’s a good baller, he made a decent job of it, albeit with some indifferent performances.

I think we all saw that his talent lies elsewhere on the pitch when he took the piss out of us last month !!

Who would have thought that ?😉👀.

Let's hope we do have a sell on and he's sold this summer as Burnley were out of touch in our promotion season and have one of our best players now....

Lovely assist yesterday. Strength, running, perfect weight of pass. That was what we saw of him at his best for us.

I’ve been on this earth long enough to know never to under appreciate a United player who can do these things. Whatever his failings, it’s quite possible we can go years without seeing similar.

Won Burnleys player & fans player of the season awards. I recon he will go to a bigger club this summer.

Still find it almost comical how half our fan base thought he was shit. One of the most gifted players we’ve had. A real kick in the balls to those who thought he was crap. Or those implying Burnley fans didn’t rate him.
To be fair he's not had much to beat, Burnley have had a terrible season considering how much they've spent. Kompany should have come under much more criticism than he has, but he's obviously the media's darling.
I can't see Sander staying with them, I reckon he'll finish up playing abroad.

Who hasn't took the puss out of us, not special for Berge to be able to do it as well.

Kompany should have come under much more criticism than he has, but he's obviously the media's darling.

Just heard Nedum Onoha on R5 explaining how much Kompany will have learned etc etc. Hecky wasn’t afforded that leeway.

That said, I think what we’re seeing is the realisation of just how hard the task is, even with a 9 figure outlay. It’s harder for a team to grow up in the league below and stay together as genuinely good players get poached. And increasingly, teams are relying on prem loans to get promoted, which then disrupts continuity upon promotion.

That’s the glimmer of hope for Ipswich. They have that continuity, and need to strengthen without breaking it.

He made us look like Blackpool donkeys😊

The Berge experience worked out pretty well for all parties.

We were in the Premier League when we signed him and in the Premier League when he left. He was a big part of us getting back up after our relegation. He didn’t want to sign a new contract so we sold at a small loss and got Hamer on a long-term deal.

Berge got a move to a team that plays to his strengths and seems to have done well. He’s probably back on the radar of bigger teams. He can leave now or stay for next season and probably look even better.

Burnley will probably make a profit on him.

I think you sat in front of me at yesterday's match. If I got the right person, you and your two friends from Unstone got up and left your seats after Everton's goal

berge is a quality player no doubt about it but you just get the feeling theres so much more in the locker with him and hes underachieved in his time in england having said all that weve missed him this season more than i thought we would

I hope he jumps ship to another team who then goes on to be relegated and so on until he ends up in the Northern Counties League.

Not that I'm bitter.

I mean ideally I want players who have both talent and a work ethic, but if it comes down to a choice of one or the other then yes, I'll take the grafter all day long.

The exception being at the top of the pitch, I've never understood why people slag off those forwards who do eff-all for 80 minutes of any given game but still reliably score a goal or two most matches. 10 grafters plus Haaland would do me nicely.

I've often wondered how a team of Osborns would compete.
