Fair enough. If you follow United you tend to get a bit pessimistic but even so, there is a line (imo) where you can just start to be a grumpy old bastard who isnt really giving the club a fair crack of the whip. Lord knows the club can make anyone get fed up with them at times, but there is a point where people can just be overly negative. Fair enough if you want to wallow in SUFC misery, that's up to you, though I'm not sure if see the benefit of that. Life's tough enough never mind your football team contributing to it.
By the way, you may very well be older than me. But we all have different lives and experiences. Personally I'm well into my 50s (watched United since the mid 70s and followed them all over the country for years), travelled and lived around the world, been in the British forces, had a family, and have had a full life. I tend to think that (after seeing what I have in life especially in the BFs, that you should try to be positive and enjoy life if it permits). Think it's also fair to say my old man has watched United longer than you (he's well into his 80s) and he's not as miserable about United as you seemingly are (on here), and he's a pessimistic old bugger at times
But if you want to be miserable about SUFC with all your 'life' experience, then crack on pal.
