Wants to play abroad or be a Premier League backup keeper. No interest in staying with us.

He didn’t want to be here though.
I think he would’ve stayed but I think the money wasn’t good enough then Wilder mugged him off with Grbic.

Thats my understanding of it, which like most things is nothing more than an opinion.

He's been planning on moving his family down south for a while. I think it would've taken a significant increase in wages to keep him here.

Neither did the management here either. To be fair to him he has a good gig there he might get the odd League cup of FA Cup appearance if he is lucky. Some reports saying potential wages of £50-60K per week! He gets a salary increase for being 3rd choice, a bit of a no brainer to be fair.

I'd imagine he's known about it for a while, or his agent at least had something similar lined up. Hence, quite understandably not wanting to sign a new contract at a skint club in a lower division.

I don't blame him at all, especially at his age. Fair fucks to him.

Thats information i’ve not seen TBF. So if thats the case then seems his mind was set.

I haven’t seen it reported anywhere either to be fair but it’s from the horses mouth if that helps. I could’ve said a while ago that was his plan but didn’t feel it was my business to do so.

He's from London so makes sense. He was poor when we really needed him though last season when the season wasn't totally dead. Seems a good pro but not gutted he didn't stay on.

forget fodderingham hes gone we need 2 keepers to come in anybody got any ideas 🤔

Ideally (tried to be realistic), Iverson on permanent, perhaps Begovic for a year as he's still decent and would be good competition.

Goo on Wes take em for very penny you can squeeze and thanks for the memories.

Huge GLTTL. Managed to secure himself the best job in the world...3rd choice "making up the numbers and home grown quotient" GK for a PL side. Likely will never play, but will still pick up what are, for most of us, eye-watering sums of money.

Id have thought he'd want to play football but maybe not. I get it's good money but he's very little chance of playing. Maybe a return to London suits him also.

Mate he's at an age where a big final contract secures him for life. It's all about the money. There might be something in this 'moving home' explanation but if West Ham had offered him 10k a week he wouldn't be going there !

He started off as 3rd choice keeper for us. He will be thinking that he might become number one there (Injuries, loss of form).

Last night I was speaking to the guy who told me back in March that Wes wasn't re-signing and wanted to either go abroad or be 2nd/3rd choice Premier League goalkeeper.

Apparently the grass isn't greener and he's regretting the move!

Cooper is 100 times better than Wes.

Of course he is regretting it, it's boring being a 3rd choice keeper at a PL club. You will barely ever play a match.

Well if I was as shit at Goalkeeping as he is and got a PL bench gig, I'd be absolutely buzzing

He makes his bed, he lies in it.
Good luck with the rest of your career Wes, but I won’t lose any sleep over your regret (if this is correct)
