Osborn gone

I've heard from a reliable source that the new owners didn't take kindly to him throwing a kettle over a pub. Apparently, they wanted him to publicly state the US office is the best Office but he was having none of it.

I think this is based on the injury he picked up. We won't be wanting to give him a one year deal if he is looking likely to miss the start of next season. They wages can be spent elsewhere.

Sad though, as I do rate Osborn as cover in the championship. Always give 100% regardless of whats going on around him but we can't just keep him around because he might be fit at some point next season.

Good luck to him and I am sure another Championship club will pick him up.

Probably best he's gone then cos the US office is so much better

One of 3 things has happened here.

1. Wilder wanted to keep him but as Hecky learnt board/Prince over rules these decisions.
2. His injury might be worse than first feared so, risk having him for a season and he isn't available to play enough.
3. It's connected to this takeover bid. But I see that as highly unlikely at this stage.
or he's had a good offer of a two or three year contract where he may actually get to play and United have agreed not to stand in his way?

Unless he’s got a really bad injury, I don’t get this at all. With us needing to sign 8-10 already for next year, can’t believe we’re letting him go. Covers 2-3 positions and is solid at Champ level
I thought I read Wilder said 10-12 players ?

I do have some possible inside info regarding this but not sure if relevant. Wes and Osborne were seen in Manchester Airport after the final match of the season. Non of the other squad were with them, no idea where they were flying.

Surely to god this can’t be true….we’ve gone from an interested party to pulling the plug on a contract extension in the space of 48 hrs….if this is right then the stupidity in the club knows no bounds!

It confirms the sheer ineptitude and lack of professionalism within the senior leadership, and adds yet more uncertainty at a time when time and decisiveness of the essence!

Maybe the new owners are redneck Republicans. It could be reminscent of the Bill Hicks skit.

"Well, looks like we got ourselves a reader...."

A limited player with a big heart and good work ethic. If half the team last season had shown his enthusiasm for playing for SUFC we may not be in the position we are in now. Unfortunately despite him being a model professional and having above average intelligence for a football player his lack of physique and athleticism let him down. The two main attributes required to play at a higher level. Managers loved his attitude but he was never a number 10 as PH thought. Nor was he the answer to our left side midfield problems. He did well on occasions at wing back but was inconsistent and injuries began to occur too frequently.

I was one of his biggest critics as he constantly checked back when in possession choosing the defensive option rather than moving the ball forward but he won me around this season simply because he looked like he cared when so many others didn't.

I'm not going to buy into the view that his contract extension was over ruled by a prospective new owner because we are months way from any takeover. More I suspect his injury record has caught up with him. Wish him well for the future, will do well for a lower championship club like Derby.

There may be trouble ahead, but whilst there's Wilder, Arblaster (for now) and Hamer (for now), lets face the second division and dance.

It's the best I could do in about 2 minutes of thought!
Minus Wilder would be nice

I looked that up just yesterday, as I can never remember how it goes.
You've got to be kidding me. I've been further even more decided to use even go need to do look more as anyone can. Can you really be far even as decided half as much to use go wish for that? My guess is that when one really been far even as decided once to use even go want, it is then that he has really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like. It's just common sense.

Never hid and never shirked. A solid, hard working player that is actually likely to be 7/10 every week for a mid table champ team.
Hugely likeable lad but not good enough for a team hoping to be contenders next season - albeit a decent enough squad player.
I’m hoping it’s a positive that we have let him go.
Good luck little Ben.

You have to think that if the story the that the prospective new owners have intervened with Osborn…. then that also massively undermines Wilder just as much. Not sure that is a good sign for him to keep his job if new owners are genuinely close enough to a deal to be influencing contracts.

The poll on here suggests that a majority wants Wilder gone, and I suspect that majority would grow significantly if we had new ownership so I don’t think its necessarily bad news.
