I’m confident Wilder can get him settled and motivate him in the best way possible to recapture some of his form from Blackburn.

Do you or anyone else know what resources/processes in place that we do have for our recruitment? Not trying to be funny there but it could well be that the problem with recruitment isn't Paul Mitchell but what the parameters are set to him, i.e signing cheap players from abroad rather than domestic players. We've had some gems in the time Mitchell had been with us, less so in recent times possibly because the wages and budget are very low in comparison to what us needed so we're signing players who are merely for development and if it doesn't work out we sell them on, although the latter hasn't always happened for various reasons.

We do seem to be signing cheap foreign players rather than focussing on players here in the lower leagues, unless it's younger players to join the academy like One. I think it's quite possibly the prince and his strategy not Mitchell who sets the rules and therefore the players we sign.

I was in Hale last year when all the matches were being played. Gary was with his pals getting pissed, so I presumed he’d either retired or was out of favour wherever he was.
