Jeez that was a good sideJust looking at this pic and had forgot how many Watford players ended up playing for the Blades.
Colin Franks, Keith Eddy, Stuart Scullion and Terry Garbutt.
We even got their manager Ken Furphy.
70/71 season was my first at the Lane and I’m on the second row to the very left of this photo of the BL stand, but too blurred to make us out clearly.
Moved to the South Stand when it was built. Great days

It certainly was, but eventually undermined by keeping Watford solvent. Out of the people you named plus TC, gave United one, TC, and a half, Scullion, decent players the rest I wouldn't have given 2d and a conker for. The other four were not as effective as the people they replaced.Jeez that was a good side
Good spot that, Buck & I think you’re right. The giveaway is the wall outside the old vicarage on the left.Hi Silent. I lived and grew up in Tinsley in the 60's and 70's but don't recognise this road. This looks like the road that leads from Catcliffe up towards the Yorkshire Terrier at Brinsworth but happy to be corrected.
Not "Jack Smith " Was F A Smith I think...... Fred.?I don't know who occupied it but it is no.136 BL, and it's roof often appears on many matchView attachment 174991 photos up to 1966 when the BL stand was built.

I had the pleasure of playing cricket with both of Norman Yardley’s twin sons over the years.
Both great lads, but nowhere near as talented as their Dad - which we had great enjoyment in mentioning to them at the time. And still do!![]()

Bottom 2 werent goals scored by Woody. Him jumping for joy was when sub Tudor scored the last minute equaliser at home to Bristol City in Sept 1970. Bottom is when Man U's keeper, John Connaughton, allowed a hopeful cross shot by Salmons to slip through his hands in the 1-1 draw in April 1972.
No, that was Easter Monday 1973. Boxing Day 1973 had the same scoreline, Currie and Woodward our scorers
Ok, saw the result and year and didn’t look at the month. Will keep having a look. No, that was Easter Monday 1973. Boxing Day 1973 had the same scoreline, Currie and Woodward our scorers

HarryHaslam , do you have any photos of the 1973 Boxing Day match at Old Trafford? I have not been able to find any and I wonder if we wore the white shirts with collar like we did at Liverpool in October 1973 (you posted them a few weeks ago which surprised me because I was at Anfield that day but dont remember that our shirts had collars.
