Absolute shocker, could have had it wrapped up in the first 10 mins too.

All credit to Bogle for managing to stand out as the worst player for us when the competition was so fierce.

The ownership issue ...both the incumbent and the prospective is a millstone around the neck of everyone connected with the club right now . It shows no sign of being resolved ... so the rest of us ...including the players and coaching staff are left in a state of nervous limbo ...while the people at the top 'fiddle while Rome burns' ... This is bound to be having an effect on performances ... yet so far we have 'hidden' that aspect relatively well especially on the field... today we saw what has been gradually coming for a while ... yet no one is even telling us what is going on ... it just seems to be 'smoke and mirrors' employed to avoid the need to spend any money . An awful situation. We need some positive news and quick to lift everyone's spirits.

Also meant no strengthening of the squad...

The best team won. They have better players than us who were much more energetic and clever. We overplayed over and over again. They countered at will and it could have been worse. We had our chances but took too many touches and made lots of bad decisions. The midfield was terrible. Been our weakest area all season but they gave the defence no cover tonight. Not the end of the world, but we looked very tired and not long until we play Millwall.

I feel some on here think these players are much better than they actually are. They're a team much better as a unit than as individuals. Very few good enough for the top flight. It's a credit to them as a team and the coaching staff that we're doing so well. Today Boro showed far more energy and determination to win. We had a fair few chances but they did as well. They ran through us at will over and over and over again. Our players far too slow to get back or get to players. We stood off far too much.

Foderingham - 6.5 - Should have done better with the third but made a couple of smart saves and game to collect. He was given very little protection though. Came out to sweep up for a dithering defence.
Lowe - 4.5 - Thought he was poor all night. Even when he got forward his final ball lacked any actual belief and just put a ball into an area. Targeted defensively and was always too far off his man.
Robinson - 4.5 - Poor tonight. Shure his long throw is dangerous but looked second to the ball most of the time. Got involved and lucky to not get booked or more.
Egan - 5 - Lost his battles and never her exerted himself on their strikers. Looked slow and unsure with the bouncing ball
Anel - 5 - Gets forward well at times (and you could argue too often) but dodgy, clumsy and slow defensively. One great recovery tackle. Booked again and must be due a ban?
Bogle - 5.5 - Thought he made wrong decision after wrong decision going forward and his control of the ball was all over the shop. Just running into trouble instead of playing the obvious ball. The ball hogger. There were a few occasions when he had a willing runner and didn't play him in. Looked injured at the end.
McAtee - 4.5 - Did a few things going forward but full of mistakes in midfield. So, so weak and made a number of sloppy passes.
Norwood - 4 - Terrible. Jogging after their players, lots of wasteful balls. Ridiculous tackles for their third. He had a bit more time second half and the passing was better but he just can't play if he's pressed.
Berge - 4 - Another midfielder who jogs in one direction and run in another. Thought he was just bypassed far too often. Another who needs too much time on the ball to pick a pass. Goes missing when the going gets tough.
Ndiaye - 5.5 - Ran around a lot but the poor run of form continues. Taking too long to make a decision and his shooting has been poor the last few games. He just seems to have lost the confidence to take defenders on. He's been slowing it down the last few weeks.
McBurnie - 4 - Goal aside I thought he looked sluggish and ambled and offered very little. Linked up the play a few times but more fancy trick that determination to make something happen. Looks well off the pace still.

Subs:

Jebbison - 6 - Looked lively and most likely to pull one back. A bit all over the shop but added much more energy up top.
Osborn - 5.5 - Did ok. Neat and tide but relying on others to make something happen.

Hecky - 4 - We started well but we were overrun in the middle. I thought we needed to change it sooner and put more legs in there. At halftime I would have tried to put defence first and hope to create something. We had to tighten it up and we didn't. Going to 4 at the back helped but too many poor performances. Getting sent off for booting the board is stupid, however angry you are.

Boro - By far and away the best team we've played this season. I suspect they've raised their game to play us but if they play like that every game they win every game. Cameron Archer, described by some of the experts on here as shit, ran rings around our defence.
we have played very similar to tonight since archer first started. thats why hes so vital for us. before him we had crooks up front and everything broke down all the time. making games against weaker teams hard work.
dont get me wrong it was a very tough game tonight. we defended really well, bar the goal. if we never, you guys would have opened us up a few times. fine margins when similar strength teams play.
vs watford we won comfortably 2-0 but i felt they had the rub of the green all match. every time the ball broke free it fell to a watford player all game. if that happened this game. we'd have been 3-0 down after 15minutes.

i was half expecting the game to play out a bit like this. was thinking 2-2 before kick off. knowing both teams would go for the win, expected an open game. it was a great game for the neutral for sure.

from what i saw of you guys. its obvious that you are a better side that we are used to playing. i'm pretty certain you will go up 2nd. but tonight gave more more hope that its possible to be ready if you guys hit a bad run. it also gave me a lot of belief that if we get in the play offs we can probably beat any of the teams in it. if we perform.

We made a lot of noise about not being "rattled" before the game, only for the team to put in an edgy performance, where players were arguing with fans at throw ins and the gaffer got sent off.

FFS 🤦‍♂️

boro contributors to Roy’s view from pre-match look like time travellers now

McAtee is not good enough to be a top player. He's too hesitant on the ball and wants extra time to make decisions, or extra touches before he passes/shoots. He has potential but he's over rated in my eyes with occasional glimpses of brilliance. He needs to be dropped next game and used as an impact sub.

Its a long time since I've seen us give so much space to opposition midfield & attack ... And Boro had the speed of thought & feet to capitalise with 3 goals in which we totally failed to challenge the scorer , in fact we were nowhere near him each time.

Our weakness is the midfield. We lack athleticism, energy and strength. You played really well behind them and kept exposing out defence. Flooded men forward. Our pressing was toss tonight. 3 or 4 would press and the fifth was wondering what he was going to have for tea tomorrow. You played well through it though and had great meeting movement.

Going to be interesting when the games start coming thick and fast. Whether you can break down teams who sit back and flood the defence with tired players. We created more tonight than we have for a while because you were so attacking. Next few games will be key for both of us.

Another observation is that we've turned into a team who often seem to overplay. We had a go against Swansea but there's too much dithering and passing the buck.

you may not have noticed him in our midfield 'hayden hackney'. i absolutely love him. wilder said we dont have anyone in the academy that is ready for the first team. he brought in luongo from weds. wilder got sacked then hayden got put into the first 11. hes been our best midfielder ever since. you wouldnt think he was fresh out of the academy and has barely played on loan prior to coming into the team. hes a revelation.

Wilder wanted to ship David Brooks out on loan to L2 Chesterfield before other staff persuaded him t reconsider. Not a man who trusts youth.

if you watch the Sunderland game vs us. in the first half mogga(the big boro fan & legend) knew exactly how to stop us. he flooded the middle of the pitch and didnt give us a time to get the ball down and play. he always knows how to stop us mogga, we never beat his teams. pretty sure if we never had a player sent off the second half would have swung our way and was expecting us to go on and win it, as we normally do. but fry was sent off and that cost us the game. but for sure the way to stop us is stop hackney and hoswon from having the ball.

Credit to Middlesbrough 3 wonderful goal by them. The club needs to regroup quickly as Middlesbrough are now closing on the 2nd place. Carrick has done a great job for them...

Told everyone what would happen when our slow, boring, methodical, settle for what we've got, approach came up against a team that actually wanted to win and had the quality to do it.

How I feel tonight is kinda how I imagine Burnley fans felt when we beat them 5-2. It’s all about how we react now, big game Saturday and we’re not going to come up against a team as good as we faced today. (Cue Burke to score and we lose 1-0 😅)

Well beaten tonight, but we didn't look after the ball, and to many hopeful long balls that gave them the ball straight back..we did the same v Wrexham at the Racecourse..lack of composure..we're capable of playing through teams, but gave it away to cheaply..also we had players overplaying,Bogle has been good of late but doesn't have to beat his man 3 times when once is enough..Not to worried,as I think we can bounce back v Millwall, and although there no easy games, there's not many teams who will outplay us like Boro did tonight..Still in a strong position.

Forgetting the first 10 minutes i think Middlesboro are the best team to visit Bramall Lane since the Blades were in the premier league.

United will do their best to gift them 2nd place no doubt about that.

I’m still an armchair optimist. Missed the game, but got up about 4.45am local time just for a leak. It was half time and the score was 1-1.
Woke up only to learn we had lost 1-3 🤷‍♂️
Bad result, the opposite of what I was hoping for. Seems we were outclassed.
We should make Millwall suffer for that. Same way Boro did after defeat to Sunderland. Was it too many having an of off day for us, or were Boro really too good for us? Good time to get a kick up the arse if we still want autos enough!

I stated before the game that we needed to be more clinical in the final third and was called out! Again it proved to be true, 10 shots on target and 1 goal, Boro 5 shots on target and 3 goals. We shoulda been 3 up an out of sight early on!

To me it seemed like there was no cohesion at times, wayward silly passes after doing all the hard work. Trying to dribble it into the net, not getting it out to feet and it bobbling around like a toddler was playing with the ball.
Maybe they should bin the tennis game in training and practice shooting more. Also maybe take it more serious than acting like goofballs all the time (yeah yeah I’m just having a pop at their vids I’m sure they take that shit seriously).

Anyway whatever it’s one loss and I don’t know what the fuck I’m talking about! fair play to Boro they were good to watch.

We gotta bounce back at Millwall and maybe QPR can catch Boro off guard as they’ll be cockahoop after this game!

The reading game in hand is our ace up our sleeve!

Oh and cheer up, it’s just a game UTB

And in the stands. Embarrassing.

Suffering from a football hangover this morning.

What you're saying is true. Whatever was said to rile JLT and booing at the end is wrong. Sense of entitlement x turning on our own = Wednesday In Disguise.

There's no doubt our lads worked hard but Boro were THAT good.

Will allow myself to be mardy for two days with a generous sprinkling of sulking but will be back in the zone at Millwall! 🙃

Norwood should of been hooked at half time, he was dreadful, I know your not allowed to slag him off on here because he’s the best midfielder to ever put the shirt on according to some.

He gave it away at every opportunity his corners were crap, always looking for the Hollywood ball, every time he had it he gave it away.

He wasn’t the only one, the whole midfield we’re too soft, too lightweight and too nice!

No humble pie delivery today (for a change)...

1676538852943.jpeg

...hopefully normal humble pie deliveries will be resumed at Millwall.

They must. Everyone knows we don't ever get promoted via the play-offs.

UTB

PS: This nonsense hasn't help Hecky nor the squad, one little bit at the 'business' end of the season!
[Professional negligence at board level to be frank.]
