Second best, but......I just thought that they used their strengths of pace and trickery against our slow backline far more than us. We did what we always do - pause, pause, pause some more, then pass the ball across the back line and let them regroup. Ndiaye and McAtee (and Berge with the ball at his feet, when he feels like it........) are just as quick as Akpom and Archer and their backline is just as slow, undynamic and sluggish as ours.
Their last 2 goals came from circumstance with the tackle and mcatee, for me wrongfully, not just giving up and taking the foul. They could have done better with a few opportunities and you could rightfully argue that we had better chances, but they looked a better outfit. My biggest worry, and has been for some time, is that our approach was the same as most, if not all, games with little ability to adapt. Carrick and Woodgate are not football masterminds, they have a group of players with strengths and weaknesses that they play to.
Still confident in a decent group of players with varying abilities, but am very frustrated that Boro looked a far better team than us with a similar dynamic within their team.
