We came from 0-2 to 2-2 and saved penalty. Our attacking was more going to the goal instead the usual stopping at 25m to roll the ball back and forth. We had all the cards in our hand to win the game, but were bit unlucky.

I thought Norwich would had been better but they seemed to have one and only way to play. I think we've had been in bigger troubles in last few games than this one.

Win would had been right result, but 2 goal comeback was something we don't see often so let's enjoy about that!

Portion of humble pie yet again.

At 0-2 I’d written the season off let alone the game.

Draw against a Top 6 side, home or away, remains automatic promotion form.

Week to week we just need to stop losing against the middle eight and dropping any points to the lowest eight sides.

Hecky & Co keep serving up humble pie.

Why oh why am I such a doubting Thomas when it comes to believing we can actually be promoted under the current set-up from board to player level?!?

UTB

0-2 at half time, 3 substitions later its 2-2.

HECKY WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED TODAY?????
Take the iniative from kick off. Pick a team capable of attacking with pace and in numbers. That's what took us top. Make the opposition worry about us not be timid and on the back foot. If he takes on board the 2 halves and why they were so different he has learned something he should have already known. If he continues with yesterdays men he's learned nothing.

Two terrible mistakes in a fairly even first half where they were more dangerous and we had terrible final balls. With every sub second half we seemed to get stronger. So much going on. Good penalty save from Davies and poor miss from McBurnie but honours even in the end and a really good fightback. Showed some passion and determination to get back in it.

Davies - 6 - Terrible. Terrible blunder for the first. I notice he didn't take a touch the rest of the game! Second looks bad because their player mishit it. Came out and headed one which was a bit heart in mouth but had to be done. Went the right way for the penalty. Did last time as well. Made a good save first half and it was noticeable that his kicking was pretty accurate. Needs to command his area more though.
Osborn - 7.5 - MoM for us. He looks clumsy at times but everything was coming down his side. Put some lovely crosses in and got the goal. Could have had another. The amount of people writing him off after his first full game of the season was shameful.
Basham - 6 - Looks awkward on the left but better from him. Made a few rash challenges, particularly one on Pukki he got away with, but competing for everything
Egan - 5.5 We are really bad against a hoofed high ball. Davies bailed him out on one and he looked shaky on a few occasions. Good header across for the second. Loses a point for the penalty. Should not be diving in there and there was contact,
Anel - 5 A couple of lovely backheels and he loves getting forward but terrible and weak for their second. I was watching his headers first half and there was no attempt to direct them. At the back he looked slow and dopey a few times. Rash challenge before the penalty one.
Baldock - 6 - Angry George today. Kept being up and at them. Provided the height first half for clearances, which is a clever tactic. Did better second half, caused them problems down the right and made better use of the ball.
Fleck - 3 - Appalling half of football. Looked punch drunk for the first 30. A bit better after but well off it. Still, minutes in the tank and we know he needs them to get fit.
Norwood - 7 - Played a fair few loose passes but he was the one in midfield fighting for everything, including headers against 6ft plusses! In the first half this was often on his own.
McAtee - 2 - Terrible. Every ball was loose and hardly put a challenge in. Not his day.
Brewster - 5.5 - He's a weird mix of a bit lazy when we're trying to do the press and putting a shift in. I thought he did better in terms of his runs today. Made a few poor choices when we had a chance to break. Did well to get a couple of headers in.
Sharp - 6 -Used his experience well, even calming himself down when it was getting a bit rowdy. Did ever so well to get the ball to Osborn for the first. Kept giving us an outlook and moving us upfield. Notably winning defensive headers from corner.

Subs

Ndiaye - 6 - Did well when he came on. You could see they were wary against him. Nothing entirely came off but much better with getting us up the pitch.
Doyle - 6.5 - He can put some really good balls in. Buzzed around
McBurnie - 6 - Did great for the goal and had a couple of other chances but needs to score that. Point blank header.
Khadra - 5.5 - Looked ok. Making runs and looking to cause problems without anything really coming off.

Hecky - 6 - Hard to rate really. He took the decision to rest Ndiaye, McBurnie and Doyle and it looked to have gone horribly wrong without it really being his fault. Second half we were much better and the subs all added something. We certainly can't be accused of not having a go, although it was a bit kamikaze at times.

Norwich - Despite being hit by the Shirecliffe sniper every 5 minutes they kept getting up and playing on. True warriors.

Just to add, every team coming to the lane is getting away with playacting ect, the official's are not dealing with it

Osborn was much better second half. Should have shot first time instead of taking a touch in the last few minutes. He was pretty shite first half - but most of the team were to be fair.
Mc B did well when he came on but being realistic, had 2 good chances to win it - the header was easier to score.
Norwich were a total disgrace in that second half and it would have been so nice to get the winner in the injury time allowed by their cheating.

We've been decimated by injuries, it isn't that deep. Gambler Hecky has been forced into resting players like Ndiaye and Mcburnie now. It's all about keeping the top two in sight by the time the WC arrives.
So he rests them against a top side but not against the leagues bottom side. No logic whatsoever. The injury card is wearing thin. We are down to no more than most other sides now with Robinson and Fleck back. Bogle, Sander, RND and Lowe are about it . Stevens is no great miss

Norwich were carrying injuries as well, all clubs do .The clubs with the big squads are usually able to manage with injuries. For 2 seasons we have struggled, something has to change or we will miss out again.

Two errors by a goalkeeper he had no choice but to play, a goalkeeper by the way who went on to save a penalty and parochially redeem himself.
What on earth has that got to do with his team selection?
Me thinks some on here only want to cover up the egg on their faces

Fleck isn't fit. Bogle, Sander, RND, Lowe, Clarke, Coulibaly, Jebbison and Stevens are out. Mcburnie is carrying a hernia problem. Osborn was gambled today as was Anel - they shouldn't be playing that much football already. We are an injury or two away from total implosion.

We take a draw after that 1st half... But West brom away nxt who look like having Corberan in charge, typical blades timing..

Just to add, every team coming to the lane is getting away with playacting ect, the official's are not dealing with it
This..a thousand times, this. The game is fucked and the referees are part of the problem. We really need to change this soon simply by having an official with a stopwatch and 'injured' players having to wait at least 5 minutes before they can re-enter the pitch, the poor dears.

We did that last Saturday, raced into a 2-0 lead and then threw it away .

Hecky is trying to blend and balance injuries , knocks , niggles , lack of fit cover ( especially on the left ) with appropriate game time .

The only game we were gash in since the Int break was away at Stoke , there’s an argument to be made that we could have win almost all the other games - many we should have done .

We aren’t working with the players every day - he is -

I trust him to play the long game and get us over the line by the end of the season .

There isn’t another squad in this division I would swop for ours - or management team.

Have faith Blades

Great fight back in the second half and it was nice to see some Sheffield steel again. Maybe not the result we wanted but great game to watch.

Norwich didn't help themselves with the timewasting, if they just killed the game a bit by playing football they'd probably have won, by constantly timewasting and diving they got a restless crowd completely United against them and behind the team who responded really well.

The players got Hecky out of gaol second half. That starting 11 was a fuck you to the fans after the criticism he got at Coventry and we were rewarded with 0-2 at half time. Start our best 11 and we win that game at a canter. 😡😡😡

Happy with the point today after that 1st half shambolic performance and the 2 goals Utd gave away. The half time change and whatever was said seem to lift the team. Much better in the 2nd half and GK Davies made up for the howler he gave Norwich in 4th minute with that penalty save

I often disagree with your opinions R666 but I would agree with nearly all of that. I'd give Furious an extra point for really dragging our team along in the second half when Norwich really laid the shithousery on thick.

What a weird game, full of massive positives and massive negatives.

Negatives
First half, thought Fleck and McAtee were terrible, our midfield was so lightweight and almost non existent.
Also thought Osborne struggled first half
We were unlucky with their 2 goals but although we did loads of attacking 1st half we never looked like scoring.
Brewster was busy and worked hard but is constantly the nearly man, nearly made a good pass, nearly scored a goal, nearly won possession etc.
Sharp hardly touched the ball 1st half and was ineffective.

Postives
N'Diaye changed the game as sub, he went on little dribbles and the NC defenders struggled to cope with him.
Doyle gave us that extra bite and steel when he came on as sub
McBurnie was a total nuisance to the NC defence, he seems stronger and hungry.
All these 3 played really well....so could ask why weren't they starting?
Osborne played much better 2nd half, deserves praise for showing character.
The crowd got going at 2-2, great atmosphere like BL can be and their team seemed to fold.
Really pleased for our goalie, a terrible totally avoidable blunder for their 1st goal but he redeemed himself with that late penalty safe.

After such a terrible 1st half when we were joking about leaving at half time, it was that depressing.
We actually showed signs of the "real Sheffield United" 2nd half.

Disappointing result, if only McBurnie had scored that point blank header in injury time, he headed it downwards but straight at the keeper who stopped it on the line.
At least it was an entertaining game, 2nd half.

The thing that struck me when looking at the fixtures was that if we were forced into putting a weaker side out then it should have been against Coventry and/or WBA and starting our best eleven out against a close rival like Norwich.

im happy about the point with brilliant 2nd is a relief. because after terrible 1st half, that was reminiscent of slav like they had forgotten the football we had played to go top. good going forward but again clueless defensively like the defence had met each other at 2.55pm. that 1st goal left me speechless. i saw the penalty it was as if davies was looking up the pitch & didnt see pukki. although delighted for Adam Davies. zero to hero great save to redeem himself

i wish we can put 2 halves together, as 2nd of the last 3 have been great & mcburnie we arguably shouldve won with the free header 6yds out shouldve scored the winner
