Yeah BUT sell him and our chances of promotion and even more money are hit for 6 (on current form anyhow)i can see the pound signs spinning in McCabes eyes already !![]()
IF we spend the money or should i say some of it on a decent replacement, whos got a good history of goals in this league, then sell him.
We could reject all bids this January and keep him, then when his court case comes he could be locked up for say 3 years and we lose out. Not worth the risk IMO.
Makes sense really, someone like, (but not neccesarily!) Jamie Cureton who used to score goals for fun at this level would fit in fine with our current set up, would score goals and get us promoted, then we flog him!
And a rape conviction would see our Ched banged up for a lot longer than 3 years.....
I cant see anyone taking him on other than loan until the case is heard or dropped.
A side like Reading might not need much more than two months to get promoted and bag millions and millions... it might be a calculated gamble?
Surely if Evans was to move it would be on a free transfer?

No chance keep him we have a settled side don't disrupt it some smart arse lawyer will get it adjourned again til after the end of the season.
The trial is set for April and only a very good reason would persuade a judge to grant an adjournment.
A Blades promotion push isn't a good reason? I despair of the British legal system....

i know of trials up to and including rape cases where its been adjourned because of "defendant suffering with stress and depression" and if thats a very good reason darren then so is a blades promotion pushI am touched by your belief in the powers of "smart arse lawyers"

on a serious not, a decent barrister should be able to pull off an adjournment without to much difficulty fo eg brandy and decent cigars all round and a night at a high class brothel should do it

Shame the premier league inquiries panel can't sit on it. "just think of the fans...."![]()
i wasnt joking broomhill. i dont know if anyone remembers the old Omega sauna on attercliffe common, many years ago it was raided about 11pm one friday night, i cant say how i know but several high ranking police officers and in the legal profession were taken away, strangely the raid and its lifted persons were never reported or appeared in court, case closedSome years ago I attended a luncheon where the highly entertaining guest speaker was Cynthia Payne - she of the sex-for-luncheon-voucher-parties fame.
Apparently some of her best clients were judges and barristers.
