We don’t have money to spend on improving the first team

The money we have is to balance cash flow and secure short term lending at quite high interest rates .

There will be and never was it intended , spending in this transfer window .

The real surprise is that Hecky is starting to look surprised about not landing anyone other than his goalie mate .

Can you for one minute imagine the fireworks 💥 that would have been going off if Slav was still here?

Now that would have been interesting and embarrassing

Hence the sacking of Slav and the positioning of everything 3 months ago to try to help the prince get the hell out of the way and for any fans anger to diffuse and turn into acceptance and even apathy (relatively speaking)

This guy wants out asap and doesn’t give a monkeys as long as he can effect damage limitations

no we dont no one knows the difference ndiaye and a firing Brewster will make and if oconnell returns

as far as I remember weve released 10 or more players most seasons especially 2000 to 2010 when we traded with peanuts but were always top 10
 
in 2008 09 8 left that season yet we got to the play off final v burnley , its how we roll

I share it.

If we're borrowing money for everyday running costs then our cash flow is buggered.

That pretty much makes us potless in the only area that really counts.

The trouble with waiting for the summer is that we are potentially missing some bargains. Dembele at Peterborough is a good example, really good player who is out of contract in June. Bournemouth and Birmingham are sniffing around with 1 to 1.5 million offers, if we can't compete with Brum we really are in trouble.

Although we appear to have “mortgaged” our parachute payments and other secured income, we don’t appear to have charged it all.
We continue to have large crowds and other significant sources of income, so, despite our heavy outgoings I don’t think the club is short of money.
Clearly the last season in the Premiership wasted millions of pounds, but we still have those players who may become more valuable than they were a month back.
There will be money in the summer, but not to buy £20m players !!

It may be poor at present but not necessarily for the next two years.
A DCL windfall would help though !!

There are likely to be several clubs in the Championship struggling financially and with potential points deductions, so I don’t accept that we cannot compete with most in our league

He complained yesterday in the press conference,2 of his complaints were about being "too slow" and "money",so who are we going to sell in less than a week to fund an incoming centre half?

Only if the board allow the money generated from sales to be spent on replacements. History says that we only get a small % of this. We have P&L and cashflow gaps to plug so it stands to reason that some sale proceeds will be used for this (if we sell any at all).

I reckon that for this season, with the profit on the sale of Ramsdale, there's an outside chance we can break even but it might be a small profit or loss.

The mortgages show that we aren't cash rich at all. If we haven't got cash after 2 seasons in the PL then we likely never will have. This will only get worse if we don't go back up. We need cash to run the club and also to fund future transfers.

Last season's accounts are not yet out but will give an indication as to how good/bad the current season accounts will look. I suspect there'll be a moderate loss due to the increased wages and running costs and the covid impacted revenue in last year because our amortisation (mainly of flops) will have pushed us over the edge.

Whichever way you look at it, it's not a healthy situation.

History says we spent 120m in 2 seasons but lets just ignore that for the sake of argument. A lot of the big earners will go and the wage bill will drop and we will still get parachute payments. Yes some or most of what we sell will arrive slowly but it should suffice
The board put the income straight into recruitment 2 years and a year ago yet you doubt they will do so

There is no point in having a debate with you, you are a troll and I don't actually think you know what you are talking about on any single subject in life. Your lack of understanding on the most basic of issues for a fully grown man is incredible.......

However, you can't use the 2 PL seasons as an indicator of our behaviour when we are in the Championship. Money is available to piss up the wall on flops as you please in the PL, we are now in a completely situation as we don't have that money anymore. You know this but are being a troll as ever.

The parachute payments will possibly cover us this year, but as they diminish they won't, so it stands to reason that we will not be able to spend all of the money we get in from player sales (as has always been the case when we were in this league in the past).

Try and have a think before you post and try to stop the barrage of bollocks that seems to be your posting history.

I'd guess we'll make a £40-50m loss for last season.
19/20: £17.5m profit
20/21: income less £7m matchday, £4m facility (gym, hire fees etc), £30m merit for 20th Vs 9th place finish
Costs + £8m amortisation (Brewster, Ramsdale, Berge), +£15m wages (+20% Vs prior year), £(5)m benefit from lower bonuses

The relegation wage drops will soften the blow this season but it's still not going to be pretty

well I dont get how standing up for the club rather than trying to destroy it with constant slagging off makes me the troll

Im sorry if Im a bit too positive for you by thinking we do have a future no matter what
I SUPPORT my club I dont look for the worst in every move the club makes

the parachute money diminishes at the same rate our wage bill should drop
we will relese several on big money wages and have a smaller outlay

Agreed, I was hoping it would be more like £20m but I'd not factored in the drop in merit payments so well done for pointing that out.

Much easier to just pretend it will all go away though and that we're fine.

Bizarrely this season should be better with the Ramsdale sale and the drop in wages, but after this year it will be awful with the diminishing parachute money.
