Player Suggestion Ryan Sessegnon - loan

He can’t get in Mourinho’s team. It’s not like Spurs are smashing it so you have to wonder why that is.

He's a left back that is much better at attacking than defending. Mourinho likes his defenders to be able to defend first and foremost. He likes players that play in a structure.

It's a shame for Sessegnon to be there really. He's a great talent that would probably thrive at a Brighton or Southampton type.

no place for him now. Lowe/Bogle have had their squad induction, they passed their 1st test with flying colours (League Cup) and i think we will begin to see them starting as soon as Baldock/Enda have an off day, we have a good bit of competition in these areas now and dont be surprised to see the new lads starting regs by the end of the season.

I think Wilder had delayed them coming through just yet as he’ll be looking for defensive consistency, when we begin to get clean sheets again, we might start being able to gamble more in the WB positions

Maybe but he still plays Aurier at times and he’s a shocking defender. I can’t comment on Reguilon as I’ve not seen him much and it would be unfair to judge him on that mistake last night.

Sessegnon getting slagged off good style by Spurs fans tonight.

Surely he is worth a punt on loan?

Based on his reputation from a few years ago, definitely. From the comments tonight he’s lacking confidence, so I’m not sure how we’d help each other currently. I imagine he’d be welcomed and well supported by our fans though, so it’s still a yes please from me!

I still think he is low down on the Spurs pecking order. So worth trying to get.

don’t think it’ll happen but could be a win win situation

Certainly from a Spurs perspective playing for someone who’s got the best out of him previously. They have a chance for him to either regain confidence or pump up his value.

Considering our current financial constipation, there is more chance of Ryan France dusting off his boots and making a comeback.

Point to prove, might still do a job on the right hand side.

It's a yes please from me, he destroyed us at the Lane, if Slav, the players and us punters can restore his confidence levels to what they were, then who knows ???

You can bet your life that Slav wants him. Be perfect for us and sounds like Spurs are open to him going out on loan again.

interesting always thought there was an outside chance of getting him would give us good pace down the left

Mourinho places a lot of emphasis on character. As does Wilder.

I have some insider knowledge on this regards Mourinho, it’s very true.

Doesn‘t matter how talented or skilful a player is…if they show ill discipline or a lack of character regards an incident.
He’ll freeze them out and want to get rid. Also agree Wilder appears to be very similar.

It’s also probably why Jose is yesterday’s man when it comes to management.

you’ve got to know how to motivate a wide variety of players not just the ones with the same characteristics. Especially as 17/18 year olds are often earning 50k a week now.

He treated players like shaw terribly when he was coming back from a horrendous injury and he’s been made to look a fool with his performances since then. Got rid of KDB, salah and Lukaku for peanuts because their faces didn’t fit. That’s arguably a half billion pound mistake - when you look at values and transfer fees

I wouldn’t be surprised the manager wants him I would be surprised if one he’s achievable and two he’s affordable I’d imagine spurs would want a decent amount of his wages covered.

That’s where the similarities end and Wilder picked drinkers, foodies, louts and drink drivers

Huge blind spot of Mourinho's and Wilder. If you have a team where everyone is the same character whether it's football or at work, they'll all have the same strengths, same personality traits and the same weaknesses. You don't want a team of Jimmy Bullard's but neither do you want a team of Roy Keane's, you need a bit of everything.

As we've found, it's all rosy when things are going well but when it goes tits up, they similarly react in the same way and you see last season's shit show.

I wonder how Spurs would react if you proposed a straight swap between Sessegnon and Brewster?

Similar purchase profiles. Sessegnon has hardly set the world alight at Spurs so they can hardly claim much of an uptick in the 20-odd million they bought him for.

They will have similar wage profiles.

Sessegnon has just had some bad press. Spurs don't have many striker options, below Kane it's 19 year olds with little experience. Brewster has been at a big club before and still has time to develop.

Probably nobody will think of it, but as a loan swap or full transfer swap, I see winners on all sides.

Unless Nuno likes the look of Sessegnon, he's been slightly discarded by Spurs.

But although Brewster had a bad season, I'm not sure they're players of equal value in the crazy old transfer market.

Brewster would still be valued at £15-20mill considering our recent investment.

Sessegnon did okay in Bundesliga I believe, but his star has faded overall and pretty much shunned by Spurs. So it's unlikely anyone would pay above £5-10mill.

I had a dream last night that I was a cannibal and I was offered up Sessegnon's dad as my next meal. I did him a deal, Ryan signs for the Blades and I would spare him. So basically, it's happening.

Although I think it was on a permanent, so perhaps a bit far fetched...

If Brewster managed to find the back of the net even just a few times you might stand a chance with that valuation of yours. Currently I would be surprised if we got anywhere near 10 mil for him.

We have raised the best part or close to £30 million pounds and shipped out 7 players (8 if Burke goes) and we still look no closer to signing anyone else. Our financial situation must be fucked.
