Probably way off with what it will be, but I've had a go (Tin hat on).
I've used actual Adidas templates so these would all be feasible.
I think these are the optimal thicknesses for the red & white. To many, they'll all look the same, but there are subtle differences between them all - mainly with the trim/Adidas stripes positioning - on shoulders or down the sides. Collars also vary.

Got to t be the 81 replica from the Div 4 winning season. I was only born in 1979, but I'd buy that away shirt as a tribute to that season and to hopefully have another great away shirt for this season. We've brought out the fluorescent 1990 replica about six times, and always with black shorts which doesn't work as well, I think the 81 shirt would be better. Or maybe the 1988-89 away shirt.

What's wrong with me, I can pick fault with each of them!

5,7,8,9 are definite nos, too white.

1,2, or 3 for me, with a preference for 2. Keep it simple.

I went down to Shoreham St. Magnifiques pop up stall at weekend and looking at the older shirts makes me realise just how shit the modern day 'stock' kits are. There is very little variance between all major kit mfrs whereas my observation of the older ones is that they were designed to a spec for each club.

I went down to Shoreham St. Magnifiques pop up stall at weekend and looking at the older shirts makes me realise just how shit the modern day 'stock' kits are. There is very little variance between all major kit mfrs whereas my observation of the older ones is that they were designed to a spec for each club.

And in an age where exploitation of workers in places such as Bangladesh or Indonesia ensure healthy profits year on year.

The issue is money. Those at the top demand more profit, therefore everyone down the chain suffers.

It wasn't always like this.

The collar is the same as the season just gone (which I wasn't a fan of) and I think they'll still use it this season on other kits - I'll be disappointed if it's used on our new kit - but the shirt has none of the white we had on the shoulders. Was interested to see a nicer shirt with that horrible collar.

None of the away stand out - can we have more FoxtrotAlphaZulu ? Yellow with red trim. Black with red trim. Purple with red trim. A very deep red with bright red trim.

Of the home, 3 and 12 are as close to perfection a current day United shirt can get. No blocks of red or white are required anywhere on the shirt.

I've done loads - home and away. Struggled to narrow it down to 12 tbh. Hard to find something with the away shirts that hasn't been done before, unless it's an obvious nod to a classic like the yellow and brown.

If anyone has colour/design suggestions for an away shirt, and I can have a look. So long as it fits an Adidas template or we're just in the realms of fantasy and nothing feasible.

I also have current templates for all major kit manufacturers (mftrs). So can do anything pretty much.

I'm also working on a United Reborn - bringing favourites and classics up to date using current real life templates.

Ultimate SUFC kits is as follows:

Home - medium stripes including sleeves and back with black pinstripes and black trim. You could add a pattern faded into the red stripes.

Away - white with a red and black double stripe in the centre.

Both universally liked designs.

It's literally as easy as that but for some reason a lot of our previous adidas kits haven't been good enough.

I also find my shirt pocket very handy for my smoking pipe, mobile phone device and sunglasses (Not all at the same time I might add). It is also very wise to make sure that the pipe is not still alight when tucking it in yer pocket.

You can't beat a decent sized shirt pocket, such a versatile storage pouch for a plethora of everyday items. Left side is better for a quick draw with the right hand.

Useful on a football shirt as well. For example, a place to keep an energy snack for a boost during play, also a convenient place to keep a note of on field instructions etc.
Perfect for ticket storage and notes for beers as well.

I rest my case.
