I hope Wilder tells them to duck off if they go back in for him..

Appleton to WBA, Wilder Lincoln?
They’re being heavily linked with McInnes now I think WBA that is which would be great for us. Given what’s available job wise right now I can see wilder remaining out of the game until the sackings start in December.

I think they interviewed Appleton and can't imagine Lincoln would want that much compo. I think the problem for Wilder is that he seemingly wants more control that a big club would afford him. He's obviously spent all his managerial career working that way. No idea whether he'd want to change that or happy working at smaller teams. Lincoln is at least local and a challenge.

I think ultimately he’ll give up some control compared to what he had here but he won’t work in a head coach capacity.

I don't know. He's probably set for life in terms of money. He might have different priorities.
He might be if he’s ever struck me as anything it’s proud and ambitious I don’t think he’ll go to a smaller club now.

£700k compensation for Appleton apparently. West Brom not prepared to pay anything so they're shopping in the pool of out of work managers.

Sounds like they're really cutting their cloth.
If they end up getting McInnes (which would be hliarious and good news for us) they would have cut their cloth down to the size of about a g-string. Making us look very professional in comparison.

I assume you mean Potter but just out of interest, do you like him as a person or a manager because as a manager he's probably the most over-rated one out there
He managed to keep Brighton in the league two seasons running without spending what we did.

I'm just glad to see it's not SUFC making a laughing stock out of ourselves for once!

700k and WBA don’t want to pay ANY compo

I'm sure he had the clubs best interests at heart, but going mental on transfer fees and not on wages doesn't make sense.
As someone has pointed out, there are many players available for next to nothing, the only drawback is they are big earners.

But big earners are big earners because they have done it before, they've just got replaced by an even bigger earner.
And £50,000, £60,000, £70,000 and even £100,000 a week puts between three and six players in the first team for four years that we've spent on Rhian Brewster

Absolutely spot on there JJ.

Even if Brewster's fee is split over the 4 years of his contract he will still be costing us approx £7m per annum based on £40k per week plus the £5m share of his transfer fee.

That equates to free transfer earning approx £134k per week, or whichever way you want to split transfer fee and wages, so I'm really not sure where the argument that CW did the best with what he was given comes from???
