Clement is the main alternative I’d say. Longer term planning and a more evolution than revolution approach to the next 3 seasons, including utilising the youth players certainly in Season two and three and not blocking their long term path with the signings.
Blessin would be the same but clearly he has some significant concerns with regards to his experience working against him. Clement doesn’t have that.
I had a look into Clement when he got rumoured. Would be a very good shout if Jokanovic prices himself out of a move, can't see that happening though. Sure I read on here the other day he's only got until November to come to a club in England so that might lower his demands.

It's not my board, not my plaything, the guys right.

Best left at that
And it sure as shit ain’t his either. This board thrives on the irrelevant nonsense and it’s not his place to tell anyone what they can or can’t post. He doesn’t like it, so what? He has the option to scroll past it but instead opted to moan. I know you don’t like the confrontation so I’ll not keep it going but I know which of the posts I found more tiresome and it wasn’t yours.

Thank you Bob, but its best left where it is. The last thing I want is to get on anyones tits

Not reading too much into we're "talking" to him.

No doubt we are, but it doesn't mean he's going to accept.

I could talk to Margot Robbie but it doesn't mean she'll be visiting Crab Towers any time soon, sadly.

Just dropped her a text:

"Get the kettle on and make sure there's a parking space"

on the flip side, he also had players chucked at him (which he didn't like)

I honestly see us having one of the biggest budgets in the league due to the parachute payments, so I think he'd be more than happy with what we'd be willing to give him.

Exactly.

By all accounts the vast majority of the £100m spent on their last promotion weren't his signings. He was then sacked when it wasn't working.

Exactly my point bud. Thinking about it, there's probably never been a better time to come down and mount a challenge for promotion.
Let's hope we make the most of it! From all the things we've heard from the Prince I'm quietly confident we'll be more effective in the transfer market than we've perhaps previously been.

SJ wouldn’t want much money to buy players as he likes a large proportion of loan players. So with the players staying at the lane i would presume he would only need about 4/5 players.

Yeah, I heard players were brought in without his agreement.

I’ve said many times on here, especially with the kids coming through but needing game time at a lower level, we should be bringing in quality loans next year, and those in areas that we’re short could always be loan to buy should we be promoted.

Money was the main element of his original come and get me plea put out in the press.
Not that he sees it as a great opportunity to get back into the Premier League, and he’d welcome the chance to talk to us, just I’m interested if you’d make me the highest paid manager.

If he doesnt return to the UK by I think it was November, he loses eligibility through the new work permit scheme due to managing in a poor league, so us being available and can afford him is probably another reason why hes interested, we just fit the criteria to get him back over here before November

I’m aware of all that, so why didn’t he state how much he wants to talk to us rather than he’s interested if we pay him the most. It ain’t a great look when he could at least tickle our balls a bit, unless it’s all about the Benjamin’s.

Way of the world these days unfortunately

For some, but I’d be more keen to talk to those with a longer term plan to stay and build something special. He’s an option, of course he is, but that would be a mark against him for me.

I think his sacking at Fulham was unfair myself, basically had a squad threw on him, then sacked when it didn't work. He left Watford as he didn't feel wanted, so I honestly think if he came and he and the prince had some mutual understanding and started off on the right footing he'd potentially be here a while.

So why put out to the press all the stuff about wages? That was the main element of the whole article. Why not his tactical acumen or how he sees the challenge? How much he’d love the opportunity to take us back up, and how he loves to play attacking football. Nope, it was all about £2M/year. It’s just an odd thing to do, and sets alarm bells ringing for me about why he’s interested.

Maybe he'd expressed an interest and the media decided to run with the wage demands, imo 2m a year isn't that bad, especially for a manager who's done it before twice and knows how to assemble a good, attacking youthful side. The game against his Fulham team at home was one of the best matches I've watched for the attacking football from both sides.

It was something his reps had put there, the press weren’t looking to do a hatchet job so why even mention it at that stage? They clearly did put it out there because it’s important for them. That’s fine, but it would make me think twice and certainly consider others like Blessin and particularly Clement as compatible and possible more suitable appointments.

Good point. Maybe they're just direct and prefer to do business straight to the point. They might have been aware of the blessin saga and thought they'd name their price (roughly) if it went pear shaped (which it seems to have done). I'm not particularly worried about it myself, and out of all the potential choices I'd rate him as my first choice, closely followed by Clement (due to the blessin situation) though I did have blessin as my first choice initially.

It was well before Blessin, pretty soon after Wilder walked. I totally understood them getting his name out in the press to advertise his availability/interest. But there’s no shifting that ensuring his high cost was mentioned and front and centre is a cause for concern. That’s all stuff that you discuss privately and of course they should ask for the most they think they can get. I just wouldn’t want it to be the first thing anyone perspective employee wants to nail down.

Also, maybe the prince has been working on them both, I'd imagine the board would've been aware of Blessins work permit situation before they'd approached him, could be something in the work permit post from sunjihi and the athletic article regards Blessins situation.

Agree, though wilders request of 4m very quickly became common knowledge soon after the break up, I guess each agent/manager negotiates differently, and the longest part is the negotiation about the coin.

I’m not following you. I have serious doubts they there were aware that Blessin didn’t qualify initially but if course they could have known. What’s Sunjihi’s latest? I’ve not seen it but Blessin doesn’t qualify it’s black and white, and there is no appeal process currently but it’s highly unlikely we’re going to be able to make a case that asking for 24 months experience is excessive or restrictive.

The Prince put that out didn’t he?

If the info was out there for us to find regards the rules and regulations concerning work permits, I'd imagine the club would have been well well aware, he mentioned the other week that jokanovic' work permit had been sorted, makes me think maybe the club had initially gone for blessin under the impression there might have been a loophole (like usual) or a relatively quick resolution, but had Jokanovic as a second choice

Yeah SJ was never in doubt as being eligible against the criteria. Blessin was a dead duck for me as soon as I saw the criteria. Maybe next time if Slav or Clement gets us up.

Hes still first choice for me.
If we get him or not is another thing.
We definitely seem to be going down the foreign manager route, as I personally think that if it had been a British manager, we would have known by now in regards to how long it's taken.
