He said were 100% not after Jokanovic which is strange because that seems to be the only name all the media are talking about. We'll see but no smoke without fire in my opinion and hopefully who ever they're speaking to doesn't leak to club connections.
Other than Blessin, did he say who we are after?

No just said few other options unfortunately. He doesn’t seem to think we’re in for Jokanovic, but we’ll see. Hopefully those negotiations are completely private from club connections etc.

Need to work on my interview questions as I didn’t really push for any more than that 😂

My favourite Biggs story, was when someone at Uni kept telling me about this hilarious VHS he had from the 80’s. It was a tour of Maine Road. The presenter turned out to be no other than Alan Biggs. We managed to find it a few years later on YouTube.

doubt egan will still be here booker and share your fears on joc but im hoping whoever comes in goes to 4 at the back maybe 2 new centre backs ?
I think Egan's age may put some off, and also playing for us this season. But he's still largely been good for us and I want him to finish his career with us. Still got 2/3 years left, maybe more.

You have a point Broomhall blade.Go back along way and the problem is there right back to even Bassett days and beyond.
Obviously not on our own with this problem.Crystal palace are a club who always seem to have pace especially in attacking areas ! they over the years have had a lot of mixed race players ,this seems to be key as a look at modern day players along side ones going back in time a long way pace is a natural gift to these players of mixed race.
At present we as a club have a number of lads with this back ground ( development squad) with a natural gift of pace.
Our managers over the years dont seem to put much store in pace as we never have much of it ( pace has a big bearing on mobility).
Even Wilder seemed to shy away from this or is the governing factor price?
No doubt pace gives a big advantage on a football pitch.
Wilder built a system that got round this to a degree with his overlapping centrebacks and I think the system is not broken ! Just needs special players to make it work.Even Bielsa tried it and gave up due to its specialised nature.
Will our new manager try something similar?
Just hope we bring in pace and mobility which we lack in pace,Wilder tried with Burke ! Enough said !!
What the?

Won't believe this until Biggsy is tweeting that he had the 'inside scoop' two weeks ago.
This appointment really needs to work

"Sounded out" is media talk for "penned a 3 years deal" isn't it?

Or has his pesky agent been letting everyone know he's about the place
Since it appears it was leaked by someone close to the club or at the club, referred to as a "trusted source" I think they said, I reckon there must be a good chance it'll happen and I wouldn't be at all surprised if they'd been talks before also. Maybe Blessin was the preferred choice, but Jokanovic is a stronger candidate, I wonder if West Brom's possible manager search has sped things up also since they've been linked with Jokanovic in the past.

In terms of realistic candidates, Jokanovic is right up there for myself. I just hope we back him with a decent transfer kitty

I get I’m sounding like a stuck record on this, but I’m genuinely interested in other fans views on this. Would you really be happy with this shit or bust approach?
We appoint SJ, the most expensive and proven option, give him the likely transfer kitty he’ll want, and if he doesn’t get us up in the first or certainly second season we’ll need to have a fire sale including any of the promising kids while we take the time to recover.
Its not something I’m going to argue against as everyone will have their opinion, but I’m really interested in how many of our fans want that approach and would accept the return to where we were prior to Wilder as the risk of failure.

PS. I’m not sure us talking to him means this is happening anymore than the other candidates we’re talking to. We’re just effectively interviewing the candidates before we make a decision as to whom to approach.

Not reading too much into we're "talking" to him.

No doubt we are, but it doesn't mean he's going to accept.

I could talk to Margot Robbie but it doesn't mean she'll be visiting Crab Towers any time soon, sadly.

I can't see us taking a shit or bust approach if im honest, I think funds will be there for him, but I can't see us throwing it all into one season.

Based on Hecky's interview, and he must have spoken too the board, we're not going to make substantial changes to the squad this season, three/four incomings and the new manager will have to work largely with the current squad, most are still under contract of course.

That's my concern too, getting Jokanovic doesn't necessarily mean promotion especially if he has to overhaul the squad.

Hope I'm wrong but it seems like Robson mark II with the budget he'd be expecting to have, otherwise why would he come? Don't get me wrong, his record in the Championship is very good but so was Adkins before we got him and at the time he was the outstanding candidate.

Blessin would be my ideal choice based on the tactical analysis I've seen on how he manages and I feel he'd be less of a risk in the long term but obviously getting a work permit is a massive issue.

Robson or Jokanovic? Boyle or Brook?

In my opinion (for what it's worth), Blessin for the "Long haul" to rebuild over time.
Jokanovic, short term, back to the Prem' in first season, then he clears off or gets sacked.
Stick or twist ??

Robson or Jokanovic? Boyle or Brook?

The managerial abilities are worlds apart and I'm sure Jokanovic won't be 12 bottles deep by the time he gives a team talk, just the shit or bust model that we'd be adopting seems familiar.
