McBurnie Wolves

While I think he'll show us what we'll be missing in the Wolves side, if we get back what we paid and it starts to cover the money we need to generate it's a no brainer for me given our depth of numbers in that area.

Not sure if Wolves will be after McBurnie now with the number of Wolves fans in last 48 hours are calling for Nuno to go after the 4 nil thump in on Sunday by Burnley and recent poor run of results. Nuno could be off to White Hart Lane in the summer one of the few names on Spurs replacement Manager list
I don't think Nuno does much deciding on which players come and go.

So for me the whole point of McBurnie was so that he fire us back if we went down, if we sell him before that after he has contributed to our relegation it kinda defeats that purpose.

Though we are in such a state we may need the money more than him and he's damaged good here imho

Could see him as a useful back-up at Wolves or even Spurs where he'll get decent service

Needs 10 big chances to score 1 at PL level.

Gonna get 20 + (so we are to believe 😀) for us next season.

Assuming of course we create 200+ BIG chances for him it would seem 😉.

Golden opportunity to get rid if this interest is genuine. I strongly doubt it !!

If we could get most of our fee back then I would decide to cash in. And then get another young striker for upto £5 million. (Possibly from abroad)

Would help with needing this magical £40illoon figure we are seeing bandied about.

I would only sell of we can get a replacement though as our strikers are getting on in years. (Brewster excepted)

If we sell could we get a decent loanee in as replacement?

Possibly Balogun from Arsenal?

Remember what he was like for Swansea?

I understood Wilder's transfer logic back in 2019, buy the best championship players as a PL club and then if we went down they'd get us back up.
If you need to raise x million in order to cover the losses, and you need to sell do you look at the areas you have the most cover or the least?
If selling McBurnie means we keep Berge, then of course it's something you'd consider.

I'd consider it for all of 5 seconds. Easy choice in that scenario though lol.

I think there is a player in McBurnie. I think he's been stifled with lack of service and overall quality in the final third. We had the same problem last season.

In a side like Wolves I think he could thrive and be an astute piece of business for them.

For all those who scapegoat McBurnie, can you tell me which strikers have done well for Us in the Premier League?

That's a fair comment about others not doing well and as a club our supply line from midfield has been shocking - the issue for many is that McB wasn't rated before he signed which can't be said for some others.

He's a Blades player and some are critical to stupid levels but not as critical as Scottish football supporters and neutral fans in England. There are very few neutral fans who rate McB in any way shape or form.

Have you asked any? I've asked and he gets very very few decent comments. There's probably a reason for that.

As for a player in him - there has to be - and it seems it's when he plays in the centre with 2 wide/quick players like Swansea used to. As a club we've asked McB to play a different way (and he has my sympathy there), as we did Robinson and Burke and we have helped to ruin the lot.

Depth of numbers in that area.

Brewster Young and yet to score a goal for us.
Sharp 35 years old.
Mousset looks like he can't be arsed anymore.
McGoldrick Never been prolific in his career and now well into his 30's.

While compared to our midfield that is a wealth of riches, just don't think we can afford to loose any off our strikers if we are serious about going up at the first attempt, if we do off load one it surely has to be Mousset first.
No criticism intended to Brewster who I think will come good and Sharp and McGoldrick who I love.

There's another thread somewhere full of names of players that were great for other clubs and poor for us. Add him to the list. I've said elsewhere I reckon he could do a job for us next season but please don't make out he's been anything but a huge disappointment.

He forgot to mention the bit about playing really well for one season, getting everyone's hopes up, then be really shit so we go back down and he can see if the players he'd bought are any good in the Championship.

If the SWANS do go up via the play offs this I wonder if they would consider putting a offer to resign McBurnie

Someone posted a month or two ago ( prior to wilder leaving) that he was not enjoying his football and had requested a move

Nail on the head.

If we flog our young signings then we basically get the worst of both worlds & we may as well have brought in some experienced pros for cheaper fees and bigger wages.

Roughly 2 and a bit BIG chances per half per match or 5 per match.

We should be creating chances at at least that rate anyway
