More so, the Championship. If (I don't think he is for one moment) he's looking to move, I VERY much doubt it'd be out of the Championship.

Unless a move to the PL, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A or Ligue 1 becomes an option, he'll be doing all he can to stay in the Championship.

He's young, British, has undoubted talents. Moving to a 2nd string, D list euro league, would be tantamount to moving to League 2 here. Not going to happen.
Yeah because Crawley are on a par with Galatasaray

I agree with the view Burrows is a confidence player and he's lacking it at the moment. His head this season has been one of the first to go down. His last minute penalty miss at Dull has clearly affected him.

On the pitch when he's on form he is a threat going forward with a wand of a left foot. Add in his set piece skills and there is a player in there. The problem is whats going on in his head and thats down to the player and coaching team to solve. Whilst he's in this malaise many of the flaws in his game become exacerbated. Lack of positional sense, physicality, aerial ability and susceptibility against pace. Get him in the right mind set and the player that West Ham and Everton were looking at last season should emerge.

We paid £3 million for Burrows with a reported £3 million extra in add ons although much of that may have been should we get promoted to the EPL. The reported £3.5 million is derisory and the Turkish club should be told to Foxtrot Oscar. He has three years left on his contract so there is no need to undervalue him. If we sell him for anything less than £7 million then that should hasten the end of those responsible for recruitment.

Also got to bare in mind contract length. If he only signed a 3 year contract he’s half way through it , he might not want to extend so unfortunately makes sense to sell now .
As ever UTB !!

Burrows hasn't been the same (and neither have Sheffield United) since that tragic disallowed goal at Wembley. There's plenty of potential though, and we've seen what he's capable of, so I'd be keeping him.

The owners' model is based around selling players for a profit though, so if someone offers more than we paid, I'd expect there to at least be a conversation for any player.

Woukd be a pretty daft operating model though if thats what it is. With that logic we would potentially be selling him for £3.1m as we bought him for £3m. We would be making a profit but not as much as we should do if he is sold.

The model should really be, if we sell a player for what we think is a fair market price (no matter what we paid for them), then can we bring in a better replacement for less money or within our budget for that position.

Lots of assumptions that RND would want to come back given the abuse he got earlier this year and the fact he’s playing most weeks?
He may be happy in London and holding out hopes that QPR can make it permanent in the summer, when he's only got a year left on his contract.

He’s a good player and £5m would he devastating but we don’t have many saleable assets atm (Cooper, Hamer, Burrows) spy would like a little more, towards the £8m or so mark.

If assume he’d like to go to Turkey, European football and massive wages are par for the course over there.

he’s a better player than McCallum but we have to sell to buy, and RND would be an able back up and when he was fit he was a very good player for the level.

Has RND improved massively at QPR then?

I ask because I genuinely haven't seen him play since he went there. If he's anything like as bad as he was when he left then we shouldn't be thinking about bringing him back in any capacity as he was an embarrassment. I know he was coming back from injury but he looked like he needed to be put out of his misery in the few games he played.

Anyone in the Academy coming through at left back?

utb

I’ve perused a QPR forum a little and it seems the consensus is that he’s been very solid and they thought they should target him for a permanent this Jan or in the summer. Doesn’t seem to have been outstanding but good enough.

Why is living in Turkey rather than England as a professional footballer a sign of mental illness?
The only answer to this is causal racism.

Istanbul would probably be a great place to live for a few years- especially as he’d be on a substantially better wage than many of us on this forum could dream of.

Champions League football and crowds of >40k? And it’s not like Turkey’s some backwater country- especially Istanbul.

I’d personally prefer to live in the UK, but I’m not a professional footballer on professional footballer wages.

Suggesting someone would be mentally ill for moving to Turkey to play for a team as successful as Galatasaray can only be coming from an extremely narrow minded opinion.

Or someone doesn't have a clue what they are talking about.

I think Galatasary are better, but if he'd rather go and live in Turkey than England he's mentally ill

There isn’t a place in the entirety of the UK, that I would willingly choose to live over Istanbul for a few years.

I’d go as far as saying folk who would choose to live in Sheffield over Istanbul need their bumps feeling. Absolute no brainer.

I understand what you are saying but it would be a nightmare of a commute to work for me !
As ever UTB!
