McBurnie Wolves

So for me the whole point of McBurnie was so that he fire us back if we went down, if we sell him before that after he has contributed to our relegation it kinda defeats that purpose.

Though we are in such a state we may need the money more than him and he's damaged good here imho

Could see him as a useful back-up at Wolves or even Spurs where he'll get decent service

Do you think he contributed to us staying up in our first season?

Remember what he was like for Swansea?

I understood Wilder's transfer logic back in 2019, buy the best championship players as a PL club and then if we went down they'd get us back up.
Always a good idea to plan, well in advance, for the future.

I think there is a player in McBurnie. I think he's been stifled with lack of service and overall quality in the final third. We had the same problem last season.

In a side like Wolves I think he could thrive and be an astute piece of business for them.

For all those who scapegoat McBurnie, can you tell me which strikers have done well for Us in the Premier League?
That's like asking which is the biggest turd in a pile of shit, it's still shit.

Not sure if Wolves will be after McBurnie now with the number of Wolves fans in last 48 hours are calling for Nuno to go after the 4 nil thump in on Sunday by Burnley and recent poor run of results. Nuno could be off to White Hart Lane in the summer one of the few names on Spurs replacement Manager list
Personally don't rate Nuno as a manager. He essentially recruited the Portugal national team and once a couple of players gets picked up he now looks lost. Don't think he would be the right person at the lane to rejuvenate a bunch of misfiring misfits

If you need to raise x million in order to cover the losses, and you need to sell do you look at the areas you have the most cover or the least?
If selling McBurnie means we keep Berge, then of course it's something you'd consider.
very good point, but i just cannot see it happening, feel like we might cash in on all our assets unfortunately. if selling mcb and berge meant keeping egan and everyone else... keen for this

I want us to keep McB. He can be infuriating, but there's a player in there. I can't help but like the lad. He's daft and he's a bit of a scrote, but he's got the character to be a cult hero here, which is exactly what he'd be if he scored the goals for us that he did for Swansea.

My dream for us next year is to start playing a 4-5-1 or a 4-2-3-1, with either McBurnie or Brewster upfront on their own. The new-look midfield 5 behind the lone striker will be creating chances for fun. If we can revert him to what he was good at in the first place instead of how we play him, we'd be mad not to want him in the Championship.

i agree with you about changing the system but not on mcburnie if wolves want to give us 15m for him i would take it

Do we just fuck Billy off then?

Do we just fuck Billy off then?

Not at all. It'd be up to him to fight for his place. We know he's good enough to do so.

You could argue that if you're implicating a system based around creating chances for a lone striker, Billy is the man who will always be in the right place at the right time.

Yeah, in fairness, I think he played lone striker for Donny but he wasn’t as prolific in that role and they were only really a mid table side. The problem I have is, whilst it’s a long season, can we give enough game time to three strikers vying for the same role? We need to get something out of both McB and Brewster, which I think we can, or we’ll have wasted a lot of money on them but we could do with Billy’s goals.
Maybe he’ll have to be more of an impact sub, if we need to change and go two up front to get an equaliser or a winner.
It would be interesting to see how Burke and possibly Freeman would do in the three behind the striker.

He's not recruited anyone, has he?

That guy does it for them.

I suspect Nuno may have bought a striker

Really surprised by this rumour. I thought Wolves were minted.

He's daft and he's a bit of a scrote, but he's got the character to be a cunt

Fixed it for you
Hes a Chav at best

McBurnie has proved hes fucking useless as a lone striker or any kind of striker
Im praying Swansea or Wolves do put an offer in for him

You want to keep Lunny?

Noticed that mcburnie has been liking wolves tweets, hadn't noticed this before all this came out

I'd sell Berge in a heartbeat even if we'd already raised the £40m (or whatever that turns out to be), but that's just me.

berge will definetly go and i would sell mcburnie in a heartbeat anybody offering 10m or more and i would snatch their hands off

I would only sell for a tidy profit. As said above if we don't keep our long term Investments what was the point in signing them.

Are Wolves really on the look out for a striker who can barely kick the ball more than 10 yards?

Exactly, what WAS the point in signing them? Doesn't matter what they cost it's what another club is prepared to pay for them. Profit? Not a chance.

Them we should stick. Promotion is worth more to us, no need to make a loss just yet.
