I'm interested in this guy Verrips. Has anyone on here actually seen him play? The only time I saw him he got injured in the cup match and was replaced by Henderson early on.
Whilst I don't entirely blame Ramsdale for our poor performances so far, I thought he did look a little shaky against Leicester. As we know, confidence has a high factor in the performance of 'keepers. (Thinking here of examples of John Hope - one for the oldies, George Long, Simonsen, etc.).
I wonder if Verrips might be in line for a step up to a starting position.

I'd like to see him get a chance, ment to be a good keeper but confidence has probably gone. Could prob loan him out or sell him and buy him back if he's decent for 25m.

To not play him these couple of cup games is unforgivable, especially if they were just playing Rammers in the hope he learns to catch while there's less pressure on him.

Hope he's made plenty of money and can salvage some sort of career.

I very much doubt it given how much of Chris's ego is tied up with the signing of Ramsdale!
Verrips was never going to displace the world class Henderson last season. It's a polite GLTTL from me, he's probably better than Rammers but we'll never know for sure.

I am surprised we didn't loan him to Beerschot.

Our goalie is our captain and in the summer refused a transfer to Anderlecht and signed a new 5 year deal, no chance to move him aside, so it’s better for Verrips to go to a team where he is first choice.

Also managed to pick up a pay packet with a premier league club while his contract situation was cleared up with the Belgian FA and FIFA.

I believe Eastwood and Moore are out of contract in the summer. If Verrips leaves, we just have Ramsdale and Foderingham (signed on a 3 year contract!!!). I'm guessing Dewhurst will replace Eastwood as the up and coming keeper.

It's puzzling for sure, especially the Foderingham one. Most weeks in the Scottish league even a bang average keeper can look like Dino Zoff.

fully agree said same on another thread moore and verrips have to go keep foderingham as 3rd choice and bring a keeper in to genuinly challenge rammy for the first team spot

Must have been a Van Winckel signing. He knew Verrips from his games against Beerschot. Lack of chances and confidence can break a player.

Jake Eastwood is not a poor keeper he’ll be going out on loan again to further his development same with Dewhurst
