I voted wilder & If you and the rodents out of the equation at least circa 80% are also for, probably more in the wider wilder scheme of things. He’s fucked up but reluctantly we still want dat dumb Sheffield blade. Wilder if you read this, Don’t change in most ways just go international savvy on the transfer market and it will all be reeet. There’s more to Europe than dos cevasa in Benidorm tha knoows. It’s our club so sort it out. Cunt!

You lot are fukin mental.
We are shit, being lead by a shitty redundant duo who, (thanks for the memories guys) have been found out big time.
He's spunked enough of our money, know just leave with dignity, whilst we sink into obscurity.

In
Best man to get us back up

Just like Warnock was in 2007

But he's only got half a season next year to show he hasn't lost it

This is no longer a bad season - it’s an utter disgrace and embarrassment - as is the money Wilder has wasted on mediocrity.

Pedestrian, negative, losing football. Zero quality and awful to watch.
To be honest Wilder has not been able to get the players he said he wanted Watkins ,Cash .and the guy who went to Fulham because of the wage structure at the Lane. Also at the start of the season he told the board he needed a center half because of long term injuries which the board ignored Also I can not think of any one who could do a better job working under the same restrictions .To attract quality we have to pay the going rate to players no matter how obscene the it might seem.

Equally a good manager doesn't become bad overnight.
Perhaps he's been lucky like Phil Brown and Holloway (where are they now?) and not the messiah some think he is? Their teams didn't collapse as badly as United have this season. A well managed club would have seen how bad the squad was after project restart and how they were playing and got rid of him then.
The board are not steeped in football and therefore happy to defer to the Manager who has had some success. He repaid them with long term contracts to poor players /old players, continued his disastrous recruitment.
A new manager with some experience of a higher league with no baggage from having to show loyalty to players who have played well for him could had a proper clear out.
If Wilder stays the only way we can thrive is if he does this, but would he do it?
Sorry don't believe he can

You STILL dont get the whole wages thing, do you?
No. Because the whole "wages" thing is kinda redundant. He gets told here's a pot. He then uses the pot for both wages and transfers. If he didn't want to offer a quality player you know.. a quality players wage, yet waste 8/10m on the pair from derby then that's his issue. If he wants to spend 23m on an unproven young striker, again, that's his doing.

Which striker would you have gone for?

Time for THE poll.
So what are your thoughts on this poll you instigated?

I am pleasantly surprised and delighted with the overwhelming show of support for Chris Wilder.

I can’t think of any manger, certainly since Basset who would continue to attract so much loyalty in these circumstances.

Largely as expected. Though more even than I thought to begin with at 60/40 from a decent number of voters after the match before the percentages gradually widened.

Wilder will get us back to winning ways, although sadly, not this season

With the budget he had

Didnt you buy a pile of scrap a few weeks ago ?
Hahaha. Funny man, big difference between the car I bought, and the shite wilders bought. For starters cost, my car wasn't 130m. My car's fixable (gone in today for the repair) wilder can't repair the shite he's bought, well. He either can't fix it, or refuses to try and fix it :)

He wanted certain players but they were beyond our budget (Watkins, Cash, Robinson this season Maupay last season) so hes ended up with his 3rd and 4th choices and we cant afford proven PL players. Brewster was supposed to be coming on loan until Liverpool moved the goalposts at the last minute forcing us to pay £20m for him or end up with nobody and everybody was saying we needed a striker

3 promotions in 4 seasons, 2 of which were league titles is not lucky tbh.

I was "IN" the last time we had a poll & the time before that too, but I've drifted now.

I kept setting mini hypothetical deadlines in my head (if I was the Prince, at what point would I call it) & Wilder kept blowing them.

The final straw for me was not winning once over the Christmas period, particularly with Burnley & Brighton being in that handful of matches. Neither team played well against us, but both still looked comfortably the better side.

He took so long to change his shape & has seemed clueless all season as to how to improve things.
If he was my boss I'd have lost a lot of faith by now & I can only imagine it's the same for the players.

I disagree that he's the best guy for the job next season either as I think his confidence has gone. I think a new face is needed to freshen things up and revitalise some of our players.

Who cares. They’ve said he’s staying come what may. If they were going to sack him they would have done it before our fate had been sealed which was some weeks ago now.

Polls and debates about this subject are meaningless. He’s staying.

I’m a big Wilder fan, I also voted OUT for reasons I’ve pointed out in my earlier post, so won’t repeat.

I also agree with these 2 posts.

Chris Wilder - "don't judge me on the past, it's the present that matters"

Equally a good manager doesn't become bad overnight.

But what if he isn’t a good manager and never has been (read on before the pig insults). What if he’s a bang average manager and has hit on the perfect storm of a complex system and a squad who can execute that system to perfection.

A system so good that its ripped through the lower leagues and almost taken us into Europe. But a system that’s so fragile that if one part fails, the whole thing comes crashing down.

Have we been wearing our ‘Wilder is god’ tinted glasses for so long that we can’t see this; he has nothing to respond with, surely a good manager would have seen this coming and would have alternative formations ready to go, not be floundering and trying combinations that are starting to look like desperation.

My question would be (and this is a genuine question) he’s already said that the tactics are down to AK and its not his job to motivate the team, so just what is he doing to get us out of this?

Nothing but guess work form what I can see.

It hurts so fucking much to write this, but come on Chris, walk with your head held high.

UTB.
