I'm not in posession of all the facts here, but apparently we are the only Premier League club not adopting this stance. Given it's widely acknowledged that we are all orphan kidney punching wankers as it is, coupled with a Muslim chairman, is this an absolute shitstorm heading our way, or a storm in a teacup?

Antisemitic Blades?

Apologies I've mostly been chucking away in General Chat for the last 6 weeks. Before this gets closed down can anyone quickly tell me if we are antisemetic bastards or not?

Antisemitic Blades?

We are the antisemitic disabled child kidney punching blades business crew now.

We might be a lot of things but antisemitic is not one of them. I have been going to the Lane since 64 first taken by my Grandad a massive Blade and Jewish. All the years I have stood and sat at our Home and away games never heard anything antisemitic other racist sexist shit, yes

I don’t agree with the removal. Lock it so no one can post things that could be misinterpreted or post shithouse posts.

Wouldn't mind as much if there had been reports of anti-semitic behaviour within the club and we'd not responded to it with appropriate action.

It's almost like saying because I haven't publicly denounced racism and/or joined an anti-racism group then I must be a racist.

Why should a football club be obliged to accept a definition of anti semitism ? I'd have thought that homophobic, anti black and islamaphobic comments were more of a problem. Can't ever remember hearing an anti Semitic comment or observation at football or anywhere else for that matter since I was a kid.

Agree...it’s a worrying trend.....political correctness is being used to bully individuals and organisations.
Everyone has to jump on a bandwagon to ensure they don’t offend anyone...where do you draw the line? It‘s now getting stupid.

Rainbow laces... taking the knee... commentators having to watch their language for unintended insults... it's all getting very confusing to an old geezer like me.

Can't we just concentrate on putting the ball into the opposition's net?

Extract from the article--"It is therefore all the more astonishing that Sheffield United alone would disgracefully decline to adopt the Definition. It sends absolutely the wrong message to fans and players, and undermines the growing consensus that racism has no place in football. Serious questions must now be asked of the owners and management of the club over this scandalous own goal."

Has nobody told them our fax machine doesn't work???

The article was published by the Campaign Against Antisemitism, so they do have an axe to grind.

Don’t expect this thread to stay here very long.

Let’s be clear, racism in any form is abhorrent.

All I would say is that before anyone criticises the club They should educate themselves on the issue. They may think differently about it if they do.

The Jewish author of the IHRA definition doesn’t think it should be adopted due to the examples about Israel that have been attached to the definition. It’s been politicised and we are seeing slow but deliberate moves to legalise the occupation and annexation of Palestinian Land.

I’m happy for the Blades to stand firm on this.

100% this.

I am sure that campaigns like this are not feigning problems in society just for kicks. I do not doubt that the people behind this movement have witnessed disgraceful prejudice and are doing something about it which I completely support.

But I draw the line when they use the spiteful 'single them out and turn everyone against them' tactic. It verges on radicalism and this article is an example of it.

It could turn out to be a bit of an "own goal" for the Campaign, if you'll excuse the pun.

Maybe our owners and management have a mind of their own and won't be brow beat into adopting a definition of anti semiticism they might not agree with. They may well have their own definition. Should we try and force them to adopt our definition instead and criticise them if they don't?

It doesn't follow that we're racist and in my view undermines their campaign if they level the kind of criticsm they're giving because we don't follow their party line.
