Disagree. Call me unreasonable if you want. Contracts are rewarded for success. It's not a success to be relegated from the premier League. Especially when given a fuck tonne of coin in which to cement your place there. Don't want to hear any of this "it's not big in the grand scheme of things" he spent 40 plus million on two strikers, one of which couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo, the other who's had less of an impact than Casper the ghost would.Big IF We go down ......He gets a new contract extension and gets us back up ....
Any reasonable Blade would agree I'm sure .......
We win together we lose together simple

I agree some of his signings have been poor ,however I think he has enough credit in the bank to try and get us back up ..Disagree. Call me unreasonable if you want. Aye, tonne of coin meaning much more than any other managers had lolTonne of coin ?![]()
Agreed. However "your only as good as this season" that's a quote directly from wilder. Regards a new contract. Nah, he shouldn't be rewarded for failure imo. Sets out a bad precedent.I agree some of his signings have been poor ,however I think he has enough credit in the bank to try and get us back up ..
In premier league terms is it a tonne of cash ?Aye, tonne of coin meaning much more than any other managers had lol
I'd say so. We've spent more than quite a few teams this season. In premier league terms is it a tonne of cash ?

Wouldn't say he is the only one to blame. Why the fuck would anyone want him as manager next season if he gets us relegated from the PL this season?
What’s he gonna do? Get us promoted back to the PL and then relegate us again the following season. We don’t want to be a Yo-yo club like Norwich, WBA, Swansea and Reading.
His spending record in the PL has been awful, we literally look shit at the moment and I doubt he’ll turn it round.
If we go down this season, has to be the end for him or were showing him too much respect.
The club comes first, not sentiment for CW and what he’s achieved in the past. Everyone was soon to slam Mark Duffy and Lundstram, CW needs to start taking
stick now, he’s the only one to blame for the shit situation we’re currently in.

Doesn't matter where he comes from or supports for me, since he came he has turned the whole club upside down.I do have to wonder if we’d be seeing posts like this if Wilder was from say London and grew up supporting a London club.
At risk of sounding like Pinchy, things are getting very Bladey Bladeness.

I’d say a yo-yo team is what we’ll become at best. If anyone thinks we’ll stay in the PL for years to come they are probably deluded. Why the fuck would anyone want him as manager next season if he gets us relegated from the PL this season?

Like Bassett was? On another thread I’m discussing whether we should have sacked him a season and a half after we were relegated from the top flight. I was happy to give him that amount of time and very disappointed that he couldn’t turn it around. I’ll certainly give Wilder that amount of time (caveated, if we don’t win another point by Christmas I reserve the right to change my opinion).I do have to wonder if we’d be seeing posts like this if Wilder was from say London and grew up supporting a London club.

An object lesson on how to antagonise genuine Sheffield United supportersWhy the fuck would anyone want him as manager next season if he gets us relegated from the PL this season?

How does that work?
Have the lads been browning up and sticking bits of sweet corn on their faces?
Sorry, didn’t realise you were talking about giving him a new contract. I agree, no chance, he must have a couple of years left on his current one. There is a difference between giving Wilder a chance in the Championship and giving him a new contract when he’s already got another 3 years after this season.
You give out contracts to reward success and protect your biggest assets. If we go down Wilder ain’t going to be getting a better offer than United, so why would we even consider extending past his current 2024 deal?
Doesn't matter where he comes from or supports for me, since he came he has turned the whole club upside down.
I'd rather be a yoyo club from Premier League than spend another 6 years in League One.
Sorry, that’s sentimental nonsense. The man deserves all the time he wants, for what he's delivered us and where he's delivered us from.
Could we be doing better this season? Yes.
Could we do better than one of our own? Not a chance. We are beyond lucky.
