Wilder Walks after reading He Has To Go thread.

My opinion is CW should stay. I’ll get that out of the way right at the outset.

It’s always interesting on here for many reasons but the current opinions on whether CWAK should stay or go all seem to revolve around whether the club should be giving them the bullet.
Why is this? Short memories?
Can anyone remember CW saying “We walked in through the front door and we’ll leave through the front door.”?
To me that meant that CWAK would know if they couldn’t do the job in the best interests of the club any more. (Or maybe if their efforts weren’t appreciated any more?)
It seems that suddenly quite a few on here don’t believe or remember Wilder’s observations about looking after the long term interests of the club.
I think, with the overall long term good of the club in mind, we should be worrying what happens if CWAK decide the front door beckons. Howevever, of course, most on here only fret about that when we are doing well.

So a Premier League club will come in for him after he’s just got us relegated? No chance

I don’t expect a job offer to land on the same day as he leaves, but his next job will be bigger than us. Look at what he’s achieved. He’s hardly going to Grimsby is he.

Managing Sheff United in the Prem requires a special talent .Unlike other teams in this league there are restrictions on the purse strings.Not being the richest club or the biggest and not yet established in the top flight also paying the lowest wages in the prem it has great difficulty keeping up with others who can write a cheque for 70 mill for just one player and paying them 200,000 grand a week.We have to be realistic without losing our ambitions.Wilder has great ambitions but he also has skills managing clubs who are financially hampered ,not many managers in this league have these qualities .I would like to see how well these so called top managers would cope managing such clubs with very limited funds and having the cheque book taken off them.We must be greatful we have such a guy running the show .It must be hard running such a club and living with these mega clubs where money is not an issue unfortunately it is at the Lane .Yes be ambitious but lets be realistic to unlike our neighbours who have thoughts of grander who think they are a sleeping PSG us Blades are usually down to earth and know our limitations but recently I have noticed pigitise is beginning to creep in.Yes it is disappointing looking at the table but we have the right man to cope with it and turn it around and do not not forget we are not Man U or Chelsea.

I think it means the exact opposite.

Wilder & Knill will quit while they're ahead and leave us on a high.

They won't walk out on us when we're struggling.

My point was similar but broader.......they will go if they think they have taken us as far as they can. Hopefully at the top of the curve as you suggest.

Sorry, that’s sentimental nonsense.

I wholly support Wilder and believe we will stay up this season. I base that belief on the basis of what our manager and the team he assembled have delivered. And demonstrated last season.

But to say he deserves all the time he wants because he’s “one of our own”??

He definately gets this season AND next season for me. He deserves that for what he acheived after so many failed managers. Wilder and Knill are something special imo. Theyve done the business everywhere theyve been. Thata not down to 'luck' surely? They'll turn things around. Keep the faith Blades and Bladettes.

If we stay up, definitely, he’s got a chance of getting a bigger job than United. But if we go down it’s highly unlikely.

My point is a three year contract will be more than sufficient for both United and Wilder so it’s pointless extending it in the event of relegation. I haven’t got a clue what the terms of the bet you are suggesting to be honest.
