We also need Brooks. Wilder needs to restructure this team into a 4-1-2-1-2 or a 4-1-3-2 and get someone like Brooks running at opposition defences.

Personally, I hope not.
The club won't purchase Premier League quality, they won't pay the wages. So why bother.

Any money given will be wasted and we'll end up with massively overpriced gambles which will actually cost us a lot more than proven quality in the long run.

Maybe we could loan Ake if he's not playing. You never know. Otherwise, I'm not sure where this replacement is coming from. Loan is the only real option but I think it's unlikely we could loan someone from abroad who would settle into the system and Premier League straight away.

Everyone else knew it needed sorting in the summer. Instead he wasted money on Ramsdale, Lowe and Bogle. I’ll give Brewster the benefit of the doubt.

You lose again....so the owner of the casino takes a shine to turn wife and wants to buy her and take her abroad with him.

Its not a game....these analogies regards decisions are reality.
Some people want to risk our club going out of existence. Our gambles should always be calculated sensible gambles.
Personally I’m not too fussed if we ended up in league 2...I’ll still support us and go to most matches.

Not just to Barney but to everybody; when criticising United can you do it constructively and not let your emotions run your mouth.
I've read some rubbish on this board after yesterday's defeat and (I haven't checked) but I'll wager a lot of it is an about turn from what was being said before the game.
At least half the players have been branded not good enough and money has been wasted after being talked up less than 24 hours ago.
Talk of getting rid of the manager after the first serious problem, the most successful (and best) Manager since Harry Bassett that's 25 years.
And here's a reminder, that was the first time we've been well beaten in the EPL in 46 games and that's before we look at the cost (not values) of the squads we're up against.
I'm not against criticism I'm probably one of the most critical of Wilder's team selections this year but just take a few moments to calm yourselves before typing out something which quite honestly much of has been utter nonsense.

CW is trying to build a competitive team in the world`s most difficult league. He has less financial clout than most of the other teams.

We are eight games in to the season and have had significant injuries to key players.

We lost to a very good megabucks team yesterday, but generally have played better in most matches than our league position would suggest.

I am sure that we will soon begin to pick up wins, become more confident, and things will look far better by the end of the year.

Wilder needs to show tactically flexibility. That's the next step. If he can't then last year is going to be his peak.

He also needs to give up responsibility for everything and focus on the first team. He is incapable of finding the players who fit his system at this level

We've no reason whatsoever to criticise the Prince. He's backed Wilder to the hilt, they'll be a point when he needs to question CW, when that will be, who knows..?

When recruiting players the club have one arm tied behind their back when it comes to funding transfer fees and player wages. Even if a transfer fee is acceptable there is no guarantee that a player (and probably more importantly the agent) will sign on for the wage offered. Most of us moaned about PPV but I don't know what we would have to pay for season tickets or match tickets to get the type of players we think we need - that is if we don't find another rich benefactor.

In terms of "buying players who will pay for £30k per week or less" he's actually done alright. The players we've got are probably some of the best players earning £30k pw out there.

So then do we scrap the wage structure, as it's holding us back?

Problem is we're halfway through a PL season so it's too late to do a full rebuild.

Also, if we do that and go down we'll be at risk of being another Bolton, Portsmouth or Ridsdale's Leeds.

Football is a very complicated business, and probably out of a lot of our comprehensions. Just enjoy the ride and be thankful we're still playing in red and white.

PA isn’t putting large amounts of his own money in, he’s using the club’s income to buy the ground. So there is a set amount available to cover both transfer fees and wages. Agree with this. We have to take the long view. Scrapping the wage structure and gambling on staying up would be madness. Personally, I’ll take relegation, consolidation and another crack at the PL in a season or two. The reality of things is that without a billionaire owner, we are always going to to-yo. I would rather enjoy the highs and lows of promotion/relegation than see the club back in L1. Or, for that matter, be like Burnley, scrapping along, never able to compete properly and in a relegation fight every season.

It is to be hoped that Fleck and Moose will bring something to the party but it is the high intensity which must be brought back to our playing style. Play with that and bring in two quality loan players for lcb and creative right side midfield and we have a chance
Probably fund another midfield player by selling Norwood Osborn and if he will go Lundstram. Brewster has been brought in to score goals and does look like a fish out of water but he has no chance when we lump balls up to him. He must feel very similar to Leon Britton and this is why we must bring in at least one creative midfield player to bring players like him into the game and play to strengths

He’s spent enough to make us competitive. And we’ve gone backwards. Massively.

Yeah it's obviously coming from above as well but CW has made no secret of his hatred for "big time charlies". I think he's as much a part of the wage structure decisions as the board!

In contrast, Bale (yes, I know, he'd never have joined us) on £300,000pw for one season would cost £1.2m per month. Multiply that by 12 and you're looking at less than £15m for the season. Include all the shirt sales, advertising revenue, global reach etc and you're looking at a much better deal than Rhian Brewster for £23.5m on £20k a week (which is £960,000 a year) for five years. Works out as nearly £35m over the course of the deal.

Again, I know Bale would never have signed for us in my wildest dreams, but when you think about players like Deano...like Martinez...like Lamptey...

But then again, that's a price for one season. CWAK/SB/PA are clearly building a future for the WHOLE CLUB, not just the current team, and I don't think they're scared of a relegation blip along the way. Neither am I, and neither should any of us be. We survived Adkins for crying out loud!

But...It's food for thought.

(AGAIN! I'm not criticising the board, not criticising CWAK and I do believe in Rhian's potential. I'll still be watching if we're back to playing Port Vale in 2/3 seasons...just chewing the fat on a Sunday morning)
