Robbo has played well but is limited going forward and I think Enda and Lowe will be more creative, perfect for this porous Fulham team. Would prefer to see ozzy and brewdog in the 11 but sure they'll both get minutes off the bench.

Didn’t expect this: Stevens LCB, Lowe LWB and Lundstram LCM. And McGoldrick fit.

Key information obviously is who’s on the bench, and it’s confirmed that after the long uncertainty over the summer Verrips is named on it.

There is no way Wilder has picked that team as he never plays right footed players on the left. Suspect that PA has selected the team for today

I think we look a lot more attacking with this line up. Both Stevens and Lundstram will get forward more than Robinson and Osborn.

Obviously backing the Blades to get a result today. Fulham certainly look a stronger team on paper than they did before.

As I’ve said at length before, he on extremely rare occasions does. This is the second time he has ever done so in the PL. He has as far as I’m aware never done this in any of the three divisions he’s managed us in at LCB, and only rarely done it with the LCM role. And, if folk recall, Lundstram when signed was listed as a backup to Fleck on the whiteboard viewed on the bleacherreport deadline day video in 2017.

On Ampadu, I don’t think people should see him not being selected as some sort of “Wilder only views him as backup” view. The fact Wilder specifically tried to get a ticket to Wembley to watch him in the Wales game the other weeks would suggest otherwise – I think we’ll see him starting more as the season develops.

I'm gonna say this, Blades. I couldn't be happier with that line up, in the circumstances. Intrigued that Egan has the armband over Norwood but come on lads, positive line up from Wilder.

COYRAWW!
Seriously? No disappointment that Brewster doesn't start ? Or are our strikers prolific enough to keep a £23m signing out?

Makes no sense to me. He started Berge straight away and he came into a winning team. If the argument is hes not match fit well he's not gonna get match fit sitting on the bench.

Win or lose bad decision for me.

I've stuck £20 on Fulham.. Blades win delighted, Fulham win a few quid in the pocket to soften the blow, watch it be a 0-0 …

We need to come out of the blocks and score first...it will be a slog if not, let's see if we can shrug of the post international hoodoo!!

So if we win this is still a bad decision? What the fuck is that all about? Some of our fan base are completely mental!

Wilder started Cranie at LCB vs Birmingham City away in 2019. Think that might be the only time it’s happened at LCB.

Happy Lowe has started! Midfield looks a bit more technical with norwood back in. Lets hope we can keep possession nicely and not smack long balls for mcburnie.

feeling confident.

Ah yes, that’s right. He was defensively fine there too if I recall, but limited going forward. I don’t other than that recall any other instances though – Wilder very clearly tries to avoid it where possible.

With regards to Brewster that has honestly baffled me, but only because of the hype the club has been making about him. It's been every single day since they signed him.

My only guess is perhaps Wilder doesn't want to throw him in at the deep end, but for 23 million I expect him to be able to dive in and manage to stay afloat till he finds his form.

I'm pleased to see that Stevens has finally been dropped at left back. But I'm annoyed that Wilder is still starting him, particularly since Ampadu can cover for O'Connell, and has been playing well whilst Stevens has been dog toss.

I just can't see where the goals are coming from with that midfield and "strike" partnership.

I'm not impressed with this line up one bit. Why buy Brewster to improve your fire power and not play him? Fulham is the game to start him, a game we could and need to win. Not against Liverpool and Chelsea.

Maybe the full time score will surprise me but I've got no faith in that starting line up.

I really worry about Stevens at LCB, hope to be proved wrong but I can see Mitrovic playing on him at every opportunity.

I think Lunny gets the nod, not because he is one of the best 3 midfielders, but because we are not scoring and he will get into goalscoring positions. Also maybe more of a physical presence to match up with Loftus Cheek on that side.

In simple terms I agree....put your big signing on immediately. However on many occasions this doesn’t happen. There are several reasons for this.

1: It shows loyalty to the current strikers...Wilder often talks about being loyal but not sentimental.
So he‘s giving McBurnie and McGoldrIck a final chance to come good.

2: It helps to keep Brewster grounded. Wilder won’t want him to think he can instantly be the automatic starter.
Wilder will want Brewster to think our 1st choice is McBurnie and McGoldrick and now it’s up to Brewster to have the right attitude, prove himself and fight for a place.

3: There’s often a psychological advantage by holding back your secret weapon for later in the game.
It similar to when a PL team draws a lower league team in the cup. They always start with a weaker (lower strengthened) team....and have the star players on the bench ready to bring on in the 2nd half if things aren’t going well.

Suspect we’ll bring Brewster on at the 60-65 minute mark and when it happens it will give all our players a big lift.
