Best time you ever had in S6?

First heard of him before we played at Pompey in the 3rd round of the FA Cup in 1971 when my dad pointed out Trebilcock's name in the match programme and he explained that he scored two goals for Everton against Wendy in the 1966 FA Cup Final so I thought highly of him. I stopped thinking highly of him when he scored Pompey's 2nd goal in the 2-0 defeat which knocked us out of the FA Cup. It was a long and miserable journey home on the train! On arriving back in Sheffield station, the shock news of the Ibrox tragedy had come to us
I remember that train journey back taking over five hours.

Twenty eight years. Twenty eight fucking years.

Having read the comments on social media apparently a number of Blades were sat in the home end for this match. It was before my time but thought it was worth sharing on here.

The cross by Gannon for the 3rd goal was top draw. Lunny would be proud of that.

Seems like a couple of years ago. ☹️

Way back when, lates 60s or early 70s, Arsenal won 5-0 with a hat-trick for John Radford and two for Bobby Gould.

A bit of fun as we approach the possibility of getting the upper-hand against our 'friends' across the city. I know that 'enjoy' and Hillsborough don't normally go together, but it can happen. My best moment was in 1996. The kids bought me tickets for the Euros, and the first game was Denmark v Portugal. I went with interest, but what made my day was finding my seat in the North Stand, and then looking across at the Kop: absolutely packed with Danes, and a noisy sea of red-and-White. I think I spent more time looking at that, with a feeling that all was right with world, than looking at the game. 3 matches with the S6 Kop solid, totally, boisterously red-and-White. Pleasure indeed. What have been your best moments?

1992. North Stand. Surrounded by pork, but also loads of Blades and we were all game as fuck. It was a real humiliation for them in the end. :)

I was in the away end upper presto bucket with the crotians , when Croatia played Denmark in the last group game.

Davor Suker scored one of the best goals I've ever seen live, especially in such a big game.

I was also in the north stand on Bobby Davison night with 2 other blades and a pig friend, near their kop. Piggy pal only agreed for us to come with him because he was so confident they were going to hammer us!

Loads of blades around us jumped up when we scored. One of my happiest football memories, until recently I've started making new ones......Bouncing day was brilliant but I couldn't get a ticket for that without sneaking in again. Glad I didn't! I wouldn't have been able to contain myself again, but dont think it would have worked out as well this time round.

So it's a toss up between those two for me

We once got our car repaired at a garage at Malin Bridge. Cost a lot less than I'd anticipated. So that was probably my best moment in S6.

Oh and Warnock's wins (was sadly not present at Bouncing Day).

Had a shit at the Dogs once, thought I had to leave a little something behind.

Christie’s nightclub at the Wednesday ground. A generous young clientele used to go there.

On balance it was probably Sheffield Schools athletics events in Hillsborough park. Won a couple and made a few finals over the years.

As for the football ground, I watched Newcastle win 2-0 there from the away end and had a great afternoon.

ran the line as 4th official when a linesmans tweeked his ligament on the day they opened the kop roof v Villa , they won 2-0 which was the only setback but they do a lovely buffet in the refs room post match. George Courtney was the ref but I did have an English geordie phrase book in my bag ,
I remember in the pre match check on the pitch around an hour before the game the owls groundsman saying to Courtney , hey george Ive cut the grass shorter in the centre circle where you run which was rather witty,

It was 1970. Bert was there that night.
I seem to remember that MC did everything to keep them in the first division. There was a penalty and the taker surreptitiously pointed the way it was going. Bowyer was a sub and noone seemed to have told him Man City were not supposed to win. Thus when he scored he was not congratulated by his team mates. Bowyer went on to a great career at Forest.

The passage of time may have coloured some of these memories.
