What have you seen that suggests he's better than what we have?
The raw pace/athleticism and all round ability to play anywhere in midfield is very encouraging. Means that if any of our midfield 3 are injured/suspended we don't have to fret. And his presence in the squad means everyone will have to stay at the top of their level if they hope to stay there. Sprinkle on some CWAK magic and we could have a very special player indeed.

Well from the video he looks quicker than any of our other midfielders.
Not sure what standard the opposition was in that video.
I do think moving the ball forward quickly when we get it back is something we struggle abit doing, on Friday West Ham did seem to be a bit quicker at times in midfield.

Does he ply his trade in the French 1st div?

Just trying to gauge level of opposition

Ligue One, the top tier.

Undoubtedly some very good players about, but aside from PSG, the standard isn't incredible.

More of a box to box type player that breaks up play, from what little i've seen. I would say he would be challenging Lunny for his position. Looks to be worth a punt so long as its not a fortune.

Have to say he looks brilliant on that video. Seems to be out of favour at Nice and out of contract this summer:

OGC Nice actively trying to sell Adrien Tameze: “He was due to leave.”
L’Équipe report that next month should almost certainly see the departure of 25-year-old midfielder Adrien Tameze from OGC Nice.

Last summer, he preferred to turn down €2m a year net from Spartak Moscow, which would have seen him earn 17 times what he is currently receiving with Les Aiglons, in order to stay in an attempt to integrate himself into the new INEOS project.

OGC Nice had even reached a €10m agreement with the Russians, as the club’s Director of Football Julien Fournier has confirmed:

“He was due to leave, we had an agreement with him and his representatives. We took a player like Boudaoui and he decided at the final moment not to leave, which is his absolute right as he is under contract (until 2021).”

Tameze was the player who racked up the most amount of minutes under Patrick Vieira in the 2018/19 campaign, but lost his place in the starting XI after the 7th matchday of this season following a disappointing loss to AS Monaco. Injured, he had to wait until 30th October for his next match, in the Coupe de la Ligue against Le Mans, which Les Aiglons disastrously lost and in a game in which he was substituted and became visibly angry on the bench.

Patrick Vieira, who is close to the player and has given him a lot of personal advice as they play(ed) in the same position as each other, did not appreciate his attitude and the club also sanctioned Tameze.

Tameze has a right to feel somewhat betrayed. He was promised an improved contract in November 2018, and that has never come.

Nice are hoping to revive former interest in Tameze that in 2019 has come from Cardiff, Everton, Marseille, Rennes and Atalanta.

International loan, replaces Besic in the squad and free's up a local loan?

Out of contract this summer or 2021 as stated in the article?

Would make sense to loan him. It’s an extra body coming into the side low risk. Put an agreed fee in the contract and then if he performs we can take him if not it’s been a good exercise.

have to remmeber all of our managerial team and recruitment team foreign markets are new to them. They aren’t going to take a 20m risk on someone. It doesn’t seem how we would work.

Out of contract, low wages, wanted by the likes of Marseille and Atalanta.....

It seems like we might as well just do this one permanently.

Is he out of contract in the summer though? The article Bergen shared showed that he's contracted through to 2021.

Wilder's mentioned we could do a loan with a view to permanent in summer. So if this lads out of contract in summer we may get him on loan for rest of the season and then sign him on a free when his contracts up. Mind you, I'm sure Nice would prefer to sell now though to get some money out of it.

Besic is an Everton loan to us, that is a UK loan, this guy Tameze would be an International loan from Nice.

I think that how it works, its where the players registration is held not his nationallity.

Yeah, exactly. We send Besic back, preferably buy him, ( I really like him fwiw) get Tameze to fill his squad place, then get another local loan, as we no longer have Mo as a local loan.

Ideally I would like to keep Besic and bring another one in. I don’t see a future at him with Everton but it’s if his wages are beyond what we can pay to take him permanently.

This window I would like is to add and bring up our squad depth. Signing like Besic / Tameze / Woolfenden would be an excellent window.

He might be able to keep up with Mousset on the break and they'll be able to understand each other when they say stuff in French.

Looks like he's capable of stuff Norwood doesn't do in that deeper role. Namely, dribbling and taking opponents out of the game.

Which is something we've been crying out for in most recent home games where the opponents have set up defensively , a trend which will undoubtedly be followed in many matches to come .
