Pep getting his excuses in early...

As the manager of the one club in the league that wouldn't stop and pick up the TV money if they saw it lying there in the street, he can probably have a bit more of a moan about TV schedules than most

Of course, if he was half the manager the media claim him to be he'd be in Qatar right now

Klopp even mentioned Sheffield in an interview in Doha, regarding the games schedule for Liverpool.
Must ave been pigs, don’t think he’s heard of the one and only original United

For our match, Guardiola has written a sarcastic ‘Thank you’ note to the Premier League after City were asked to play twice in less than 48 hours. City kick off at Wolves at 19:45 on Friday 27th December – just 46 hours and 15 minutes before we kick off against them at The Etihad at 18:00 on Sunday 29th. The Blades have 75 hours from our kick-off v. Watford at 15:00 on Boxing Day to the City match. ;)

Basically just tipping a wink that he's going tonl wreck everyone's fantasy teams this festive period!

Good time to play Man City and Liverpool. In truth, allowing for our respective levels/ expectations, our bench is much stronger than theirs for the level we are at.

We can cope better with the Xmas fixture congestion.

Also we turn up every week, they don't!!

Perfect conditions for an off day - with maybe added value for an off day for the reserves thrown in.

Hopefully De Bruyne & Mahrez spend the entire Christmas period on the piss, Kyle Walker gains 2 stone from munching mince pies, Mikel Arteta nicks all their training gear & Pep finds out John Terry has had a go on his wife.

Otherwise I'm a bit worried about this game!

Whilst I don't weep for City with their resources, he does have a point in this case. That's a very short turnaround.

The logical thing to do with games so close is to ensure everyone kicks off at the same time on both days, but that is bad for TV so I assume that won't have been considered.

You don't think Liverpool turn up every week Woody?49 points out of 51 suggests you may be a little bit wrong.

Yep, I think their points flatter them and ours certainly do not. We are due some of their luck !!

We play Watford at 3pm on Boxing Day then City at 6pm on Sunday 29th: a 73 hour gap between the end of the Watford game and kick off against City. We've then got another 96 hours between full time at the Etihad and kicking off at Anfield.

Of all the sides in the PL while we have probably the hardest games on paper we do have the most favourable schedule. We have a combined two and a half days more to recover between the three games than Wolves do...it's just a pity that Liverpool's game against Wolves is an hour and a half before we play City.

Don't know what he's bothered about. 26th & 28th or 27th & 29th. Unless his dig is that we play 26th & 29th ?

When the fixtures came out it probably was a boxing day and Saturday schedule for us both and changed for TV, they possibly looked at us at the time and thought what a perfect match to play, but its soon become a difficult tie, that's why hes complaining

I'm not worried at all.

If City play to their absolute maximum and wipe the floor with us, so be it.

It will have been a privilege to watch great players, and one of the benefits of being in the Premier League.

I don't remember many games from the past that we lost but I still have good memories of the night that Everton beat us 3-0 in the League Cup at the Lane and on the night Duncan McKenzie was unplayable.

The prospect of one defeat to a top quality side playing at it's best doesn't worry me at all.

If we wake up on Jan 3rd with our unbeaten away record still in tact. We’ll finish top 4, mark my words.
