If those are the choices I’d hope calf injury for Egan’s sake. Concussions are not good.
But calf injuries are hard to shake off.

"Calf" injury.
What a way to wangle concussion guidelines.
My youngest lad played junior and colt level rugby. They’re really strong about it but then when one of his mates has had to give up all contact sport for life aged 16 because of the lasting effects of concussion you can understand whyMorgans, the world of sport has 'woken up' to concussions. At Academy level any concussion results in a.mandarory 2 weeks off contact sport. Plus they have to go through a 'concussion protocol' that involves them.being measured through a series of cognitive questions against a base established at the start of the season.
I'm sure the same will apply to senior football. So if it is concussion hes off for a minimum of 2.weeks. If it's a calf, as someone else said, they can be tricky and if you dont let them completely.clear up they reoccur regularly.
I'm sure a young, dominating centre half is.near thentop of Wilders shopping.list this January. He can act as.cover.then a replacement if one of the big 4.come in for Egan in the summer
Oh, ok. Three points on Sunday is clearly more important than the health of John Egan’s brain. But calf injuries are hard to shake off.

I'm hoping he hasn't suffered any kind of brain injury, What are you on about?WTF you on about ?
It was a clash of heads. Not a bad one. Even discounting the fact he’s from Cork, it’s unlikely he’ll have done any permanent damage and I’m pretty sure he’ll have had a scan just to be sure.I'm hoping he hasn't suffered any kind of brain injury, What are you on about?

I’m not talking about the risk of playing him on Sunday. I was simply saying if he was to have either a concussion or a calf injury, then I’m hoping not a concussion as that is a worse injury for John Egan.It was a clash of heads. Not a bad one. The bigger danger to footballers is repeatedly heading the ball, as it’s similar to a boxer being punched in the head.
I think that’s why a minor concussion may be preferable to a calf injury, which could keep him out for a few games.
I don’t think anyone is suggesting playing him if there’s any risk of a brain injury.
My view is player health is more important than results and I would rather any player doesn’t suffer a brain injury, no matter how minor. You’re entitled to disagree but there’s no need for the aggression and name-calling.Well obviously I'm hoping he's brain damaged you fckin pillock
You’re forming a subjective opinion on which injury is worse and then belittling people who disagree.I’m not talking about the risk of playing him on Sunday. Those saying ‘I hope he has concussion’ in the expectation he would likely miss fewer games seem to me to be putting results before players’ welfare, which I don’t agree with.
Is the subjectivity not largely due to the reasons the injuries are being compared, rather than the comparison itself? You’re forming a subjective opinion on which injury is worse and then belittling people who disagree.
I read it as shorthand for ‘mild concussion’ as I’d seen the incident and it didn’t look particularly serious. The subjectivity is assuming that any kind of concussion injury is ‘worse’ than any kind of calf injury. That’s your opinion but I think if you asked a lot of people whether they’d rather have mild concussion or a torn calf, a lot would go for the concussion. Similarly I imagine most would prefer a calf strain to a serious head injury. Is the subjectivity not largely due to the reasons the injuries are being compared, rather than the comparison itself?
I’m not attempting to belittle anyone. I just don’t think ‘I hope it’s concussion’ is a good sentiment when talking in terms of return date or availability for Sunday.

Reflect a bit before you accuse people of not being bothered about a players wellbeing which you were accusing me of. Read what I actually said before you are quick to judge and take offense. Meanwhile every justification for telling you where to stuff it under the circumstances. A bit rich accusing me of aggression when I responded to your attack. So pretty please with sugar on top fck off.
Last word on the subject

Stop twisting my words.
No, you said:Did I actually say " I hope it's concussion" ?
I’m sorry if you felt attacked, you should be careful on Internet forums, people can overreact to things and get very aggressive and personal.Well obviously I'm hoping he's brain damaged you fckin pillock

I know I’m up late watching ice hockey
But unfortunately Irelandisn’t part of the
“ home country’s “ or the main land either
And haven’t been for over 100 years
Rest assured Wilder will do the right thing. If he was genuinely concussed last night then he definitely should not be playing on Sunday. It's really dangerous stuff that the world of sport needs to wake up to quicker.
To be honest, even if he's strained his Calf slightly we should pull him for Sunday. We need to look after our squad, we need Egan to play a huge part in the Xmas run in.
I know what you meant Grumpy Blade ,Still will win fuck all.
And you know where I was coming from.
