I'd be tempted to play 2 up front and bring Freeman in for Norwood. I'd go with Moose and Sharp as the front 2 with Norwood, Didzy and Robinson on the bench. However I dont think theres any chance of that happening and fully expect to see the same 11 as at West Ham with the only likely change of someone coming in for Robinson

No chance. I don't disagree with the concept of bringing in Freeman, but not for the lad who knitted it all together last season. When you play a man behind the strikers you need someone who can dictate the pace of the game behind him, Lundstram cannot do that, as good as he's been in his box to box role this season.

If we have to bring Freeman in, fine, but for Lundstram not Norwood.

We have now got 3 bellends on here all competing for who is most ITK. If they are as connected to the club as they say then summat is worryingly wrong somewhere in there if info is getting out through potentially 3 different sources, but at the moment the team selection is fairly predictable so probably not doing much harm. That may change, in the meantime just got to hope we keep it up on the field.

On the whole the results have been very good with the flat three in midfield but it seems to work best against the better sides.

If we’d been more attacking against Southampton and Watford we could easily be sat on an extra three points. We played well in those matches but didn’t create many clear cut chances and that has got to improve against the poorer sides which will be more defensive, especially at the Lane.

Burnley at home is a very winnable match and we should be taking the game to them, so why wouldn’t we start with an attacking line up? E.g the formation and style of play which has brought us great success in the 3+ years Wilder has been manager.

I’m still puzzled as to why Sharp isn’t starting. No one except Mousset has shown enough to displace him and Mousset isn’t fit enough to play a whole game. Sharp is also the best partner for McGoldrick.

Other options had to be tried but in a physical game like this, I’m starting Billy and McG and bringing Mousset on if we’re losing, McBurnie if winning.

They won't come and be lacking in effort or taking the win for granted.

They will come with knowledge of how to unsettle us in a match where we are probably evens to win if not better.

What we do need is to get Mousset fit and out there where his athleticism and pace could be a differentiator.

They are tough as teek up front but not so mobile. I think this is where we could win out but it will be a tight game between two well organised teams.

A win against Burnley would impress me the most of all the games this season.

Mcgoldrick is our most important attacking player.

After reading a lot of shite this past week, I'm glad someone else agrees.

Without a doubt, he comes between the lines, takes control of the ball, allows our wide players to get forwards and then he moves it on.

When he's missing (in times when we're defending) we seem to have a back 8 that, when in possession - knock the ball into a channel for our strikers to hopefully chase down, win, with their back to goal, & then we're hoping that they can hold possession long enough to allow our midfield players to chase forwards.

Unfortunately none of players are suited to running channels & holding balls up due to their lack of physicality, which means we have no out ball & the ball comes back.

The 10 role knits all of our play together. McGoldrick does it superbly. We haven't seen Freeman play there for us yet. He'd play it differently, but in my opinion it would be more effective than what we saw at Watford for instance.

Agree with that. However, and I know this sounds childish, when I am in the pub before the match I like to find out the team an hour before kick off so we can have a discussion/moan over a couple more points. It slightly spoils the match day experience for me if I stumble across someone naming the team the day before.

Agreed, Burnley look very dangerous on the counter as they play direct (not long ball, just they move towards the goal at pace with no thought of tippy tappying it about), just the style we struggle against defensively.

We all saw what happened when WHU went for hoof instead of tippytappy,Sean Dyche's eyebrow will have lifted when he saw that.

I didn't say they are going to turn up and roll over, they are a decent Premier League team, but they are definitely not a team to fear. If we aren't going to play an attacking style at home to Burnley, then when are we?

I have no problem with being defensive and grinding out results, but that shouldn't be the norm, it should be as required. We're Sheffield United, a very good attacking team, now we've settled in the Premier League, let's show what we can do and try to score a few goals.

Well my source tells me that Wood won't be fit, Barnes isn't fully fit and they'll be pinning all their hopes of scoring on Rodrigues who hardly ran us ragged last season.
