Best Point Ever

I don't know what it is, but I'm seeing some people on here (not just this thread) who seem to have all gone billy big bollock. We got a point away at Chelsea. Yet there's still people complaining about the performance or that we should've got more. This is my first season supporting the Blades in the Prem, so idk if it's different for the older people here, but I just can't fault anyone or complain about anything. I'll say it again, we got a point at Stamford Bridge!

Mate this is my third premier league season but I’m with you .. it’s fucking great .. they’re great.. most of the fans are great, but some just like a moan, that’s always been a thing for some, they just don’t know how to enjoy the good times ..

Some are pigs though in disguise..

They won the Champions League. Premier league a few times FA Cup and Europa League.
All recently.
Think about that.
They have spent countless hundreds of millions on players.

We matched them today.

Now go to bed and come back tomorrow and post with your brain engaged.

One- That Chelsea side has won fuck all. Two- And will never win anything.

My brain is perfectly engaged. Our players played the occasion and the name “Chelsea” first half, they like many of you on here, have seen the name Chelsea and imagined Hazard, Cech, Drogba etc etc.

If you can’t see that then we will be destined to fail.
Here’s another secret, Man Utd.....they’re actually fucking average too and there for the taking!!

I'm sure they won the Europa cup 4 months ago. Yes they have a few out injured but that's football.
They drew 2-2 with Liverpool over 90 minutes in the super cup only to lose on penalties so aren't that shabby

Let’s be fair.
It’s a great point, but we were poor and wasteful in possession against nothing like a top 6 side. We were better second half and need to have that consistency. That is perhaps the worst we have defended for a long time.
That lot without additions in January will be lucky to get top 10.

I’m hoping we begin to get confident, pass the ball quicker and provide our forwards with better opportunities to get in the ball.

Areas we need to improve.
Hendo. His kicking is crap. Clears it well, but top keepers can hit areas almost every time while he’s overhitting it, or missing areas of our players by miles. Also, he’s slow to release the ball to our defence.
Robinson. Goal and assist, but like the rest of the forwards did little most of the time and weren’t really any threat to their defence. Mousset clearly has that extra pace to unsettle, but despite their effort we didn’t get near then and Chelsea far too often played out easily.
Robinson gives the ball away far too much.

It’s early days though, so plenty of time to settle down and improve.
Some fair comments on the whole.

I think Chelsea might do better than you think though. If not Frank will be gone soon enough.

Overall, It's a good time to be a blade when we can legitimately debate how we could improve after picking up a point at the team who came 3rd last year

Very happy with the result... But in 100% honesty have a tinge of 'what could have been' with us giving them too much respect in the first half.

Start the game with the same mindset as the second half and we never go in 2-0 down.
Yes Foxy this is the problem so far ! we're still lacking a bit of self beleaf shows in our game especially first half.
Wilder is drilling it into them but we are still showing too much respect to teams it will come good as he will not take his foot off.
There is a lot more to come from this group still giving the ball away too much as we are nervous in possession.
In many respects I don't think we've come to terms with how good we can be ,lots more to come from us.

Wilder is paid a good salary to be disappointed that we didn't win that game , knowing that we were below his standards in the first half - so let him shoulder that disappointment + use it to embolden the team.
We , as fans , pay to watch the team we love , forgive their mistakes & celebrate their fightbacks , so let's celebrate that unprecedented fightback away at a high-ranking Club.
I can't be bothered delving into the records , but I doubt we got a point away at a top six club in 06/07 , and we've got 5 more such trips to make in 19/20.
Chin up , chest out + walk tall , Blades.

We are still learning and we will get better. We just need to have bit more confidence - we were comfortable for large parts of the first half and created one of the best chances of the game, but mistakes cost us. Once we started to play a bit in the second half we caused them all sorts of problems.

All in all, 5 points from the opening 4 games is a good start and we've not found our best form yet. It's very encouraging.

Tin hat time ...... and I am a foookin massive 'glass half full' Blade.

That Chelsea side will not finish in the top 6 (maybe not even in top 8) - they are miles behind where they were a few years ago.

The top 6, in reality now, are the top 2 (maybe 3) if you get what I mean. Take Liverpool, Man City and Spurs out of the equation and we can compete against all the others - we just have to believe!!

Now to my point, in the first half we didn't believe. We looked like rabbits staring into the headlamps. As Tufty said, JOC and Egan haven't done that ever before. Hendo should never spill that ball. We simply can not give teams goals in this league. Do that against teams who will be in and around us come next May - you know the 6 pointers - and we will be in serious trouble.

Second half was, of course, a massive improvement. We looked more like the Blades we know and love and in the end got a fantastic point. I will always take the positives (what a brilliant result) but, like Tufty, know there is still lots of work to be done before we can start to breath easier in the prem.

I was just thinking that, 5 points from 4 is a good start, but when you think we conceded the first goal in 3 of those matches, it’s even better.

After the international break is out the way, hopefully we’ll start with more confidence and hit better form.

Maybe it is a different Chelsea team without Hazard and a few more but it is still a team packed with quality players. I think the weak link for them might be their manager. Frank Lampard might have been a good player but does that make him a good manager? He should know all about us from last season but again he got schooled by Wilder, Chelsea only fashioned two moves where Henderson had to make a save their two goals were gifted to them, considering that I'm happy with the point but do slightly wonder what could have been.

Absolutely great result to come back from 2-0 down at Chelsea. It was a great day, I gave myself headache from been that excited and cheering the second goal as I missed the first like a divvy - thought I’d missed the best part but then the second goal came and wow. Good to see how proud the team and Chrissy was after too ! Can definitely feel even more confident now going into the bigger clubs ! Up the blades !!!

Seeing as everyone has now calmed down and getting on nicely...

It's Mondeh tomorrow. Also International break when you all go Doolally tap.

This Fin you’ve nailed it bud a little more belief from players and that will come as the matches progress.......bring on the Saints:)

Even more impressive, we did it as a 'Championship team'.....maybe when we stay up, we can be a Premier League team next season, imagine!?! 😯🙄😂

We’ve just got a point away against a team that’s just won the Europa League.
They started the game with a midfield worth about £200 million.
Who WILL finish in the top 6 or 7.

What the fuck am I reading from some of you lot here? Get a grip. This is huge.

I texted my brother and best mate last night and said "possibly our best EVER PL point", okay so we lapsed in 1st half but we came back and it was Chelsea that were hanging on.

Isnt the point that we are doing better than expected and we are gaining points despite errors which will be cut out as we settle in.

Didn't they win final 4-1 Akinbiyi yesterday was a massive boost for us, as you say their midfield is worth more than our team. I know it's international break but I hope we can continue after as it's worked against us before, I wonder just what we have to do to get some proper praise. Apparently fat Garth was tipping 5 or 6-0 at HT bet he feels like a fat chump.

Another 35 points should see us safe. That's the target this season.

The only trouble with that idea is that historically we have been rubbish after the international breaks.
But I agree with the sentiment !

Except yesterday when Robinson executed 21 passes out of 21 accurately?;) according to stats. Wasn't there but he got MOM and praised by many, including Wilder seeking him out at the final whistle. Early days as you say and hopefully his goal and assist will have settled any early season anxiety.

Robinson was superb after his goal yesterday

Absolutely this. We’ve had a decent start, and the best thing is we still know there’s a lot to come from this group. That’s not a negative at all – it’s a good indicator that if we have a bit more belief from kickoff (which will come), and cut out the occasional errors at the back, we can get even more out of the team.

what a pure wednesday fan argument Chelsea arent that good any more is
wendies said it was the poorest championship ever last season another of their gems, if it was so poor why were they mid table in it

its only a week since they won at Norwich , whod spanked newcastle
its only 3 weeks since they drew 2--2 over 90 minutes with liverpool in the supercup

they have spent 600m in the past 5 years building that squad
and some in here saying they are toss ,,,,, really
