Well, most impressive at least that I’ve seen, to go to a top 6 side and thoroughly deserve the point we got as a newly promoted side is no mean feat. Could have been more but for a couple of errors at the back which were avoidable. It’s one to tell the kids about.

Conceded no real chances apart from that, controlled the pace of the game in the second half against a squad worth about 8 times our club. Utterly fucking impressive.

Individual mentions for Stevens playing at a level above even this one... Baldock showing improvement even now, where does his potential end? Robinson looking like a new player after that much needed goal and Mousset for changing the game. Terribly unlucky not to get the touch for the goal.

And lastly fair fucks to Basham. I may have question marks but he’s made me look a twat today. Utterly unbelievable performance from him and the lads, but him in particular after last weeks mistake. I admit when I’m wrong and I was hasty (and slightly inebriated) last week. For that I apologise to him, he has the qualities we need even at Premier League level and long may it continue.

Keep proving the critics wrong.

They were all excellent.

2-0 down to a prominent PL side and made them look decidedly ordinary and relieved at the end.

I too am eating my words ref: Lundstrum. Wilder may have found the correct position for him. Today he was very good.

"Shit Derby County!"

Let’s be fair.
It’s a great point, but we were poor and wasteful in possession against nothing like a top 6 side. We were better second half and need to have that consistency. That is perhaps the worst we have defended for a long time.
That lot without additions in January will be lucky to get top 10.

I’m hoping we begin to get confident, pass the ball quicker and provide our forwards with better opportunities to get in the ball.

Areas we need to improve.
Hendo. His kicking is crap. Clears it well, but top keepers can hit areas almost every time while he’s overhitting it, or missing areas of our players by miles. Also, he’s slow to release the ball to our defence.
Robinson. Goal and assist, but like the rest of the forwards did little most of the time and weren’t really any threat to their defence. Mousset clearly has that extra pace to unsettle, but despite their effort we didn’t get near then and Chelsea far too often played out easily.
Robinson gives the ball away far too much.

It’s early days though, so plenty of time to settle down and improve.

Stevens is one of those players where every time you think you've seen the best of him or it'll be a tough game for him he steps up another level.

Robinson needs to improve his decision making. Needs to lay the ball off and do the simple things more but I do like that you can see every time he gets it he wants to make something happen. Great to see him get off the mark and the delivery for the second goal was top class.

The three centre halves can all say they've dropped a bollock now. That mix up was poor on both parts and Basham cocked up last week. Those individual errors aside they've looked good. There's not so far been a sustained period of a game where they've looked uncomfortable.

Chelsea's troubles aside, they fully expected to walk that today and at half-time they won't have had many new doubts. After that second half performance they can complain all they want but they can't say it was undeserved.

Jesus Christ man. We’ve got a point at Stamford bridge. That would be an achievement against their 23s.

Did you actually fucking go?

Potential season defining result. If it rids everyone of any self doubts as to their right to play these games on equal terms we will go from strength to strength.
The players should now realise they are here on merit and are more than capable.
Wilder and Knill will continue to tweak and we will continue to improve and look more and more like we belong.
We are United from top to bottom and bottom to top.
This city is ours.
The future is bright.
The future is red and white.
We are Blades

How can ANYONE take anything away from that other than utter jubilation and happiness? That is an unbelievable result for us.

Very happy with the result... But in 100% honesty have a tinge of 'what could have been' with us giving them too much respect in the first half.

Start the game with the same mindset as the second half and we never go in 2-0 down.

Did you actually fucking go?

Nope. But you are aware of Sky TV right?
Thats the company allowing us paying the fees and salaries of all those United players mate.
Sometimes watching a game on TV, knowing the result allows you to detach from the emotion and actually watch what’s going on all over the pitch. Take note of what we are struggling with and be aware of how often we have the ball away.
And first half, when having the chance to pass the ball we either dithered and got in trouble or simply kicked for space. We were poor. Norwood, JOC and Egan had a poor half.
That’s not us, and it’s not what the manager wants.

Said exactly the same.

Yeah like I said, armchair.

Last season, and any season before that it would have been a great point. And from 2 down having gifted them goals it’s still a great comeback.
But just look at the side they put out. Many in the champ last season. Zouma is actually a fucking bomb scare every time I watch him! How many of that Chelsea line up would get in Liverpool’s or Man City’s side? Or spurs or Arsenal’s for that matter!!
Bringing on an 18yr old who looked a boy was a joke. Our side would bully their 23’s and win easily.

Chelsea are in transition. They need to keep their bottle with those kids, but add some world class players (at least 4) and get a few back from injury if they want to be a force next season. I’m absolutely convinced that they will do well to make top 10. Lampard is naive and way out of his depth. The typical big name living off who he is rather than what he’s earned.
Man City and Liverpool will embarrass that Chelsea side

It’s an unbelievable result from 2 down.
But that is the worst Chelsea side I can remember, and I doubt we will get a better chance to get a win there.
Perspective on the great result is one thing, but we weren’t in any danger from that team and defend how we can we keep a clean sheet. So you also have to take perspective from how poor the opposition is too.

I fancied us to beat that lot today when I saw that side. And first half we let them off. Lampard is lucky our boys heads were not at it because we are a better side than the one that played against them today.

One weak piece of goalkeeping and one mix up = 2 goals down at HT. That aside we were fairly solid at the back and JOC & Stevens (in particular) were immense for the rest of the game. Henderson more than made up for the first goal with a world class save, yes I did say world class, as shots low down and close to the body are the hardest to save, never mind push into a safe area.

2nd half we made them look decidedly average and with some better decision making and perhaps just a dash more luck we could easily have won.

No fucking way are we playing in the Championship next season.

Honestly mate I don’t know if you are taking the piss or what but you need a reality check. We just got an excellent point away to a very good side. Love the negativity you have of our forwards. You must have high expectations lol we are in the premier league now it’s gonna be tough

Honestly mate you are an absolute twat. Why try and be so negative when we are having the best time ever. A point away to Chelsea is a cracking result especially after being 2 down at half time so embrace it and stop being a glass half empty moron.

They won the Champions League. Premier league a few times FA Cup and Europa League.
All recently.
Think about that.
They have spent countless hundreds of millions on players.

We matched them today.

Now go to bed and come back tomorrow and post with your brain engaged.

Here it comes....
The Bigger Blade Syndrome.
The "I was there, you werent.... so my comments mean more than yours" Brigade.

I'm looking forward to being educated in all things Sheffield United these next few months.

I don't know what it is, but I'm seeing some people on here (not just this thread) who seem to have all gone billy big bollock. We got a point away at Chelsea. Yet there's still people complaining about the performance or that we should've got more. This is my first season supporting the Blades in the Prem, so idk if it's different for the older people here, but I just can't fault anyone or complain about anything. I'll say it again, we got a point at Stamford Bridge!
