Morrison has 2 convictions from when he was a teenager. King has at least 15 convictions, served 3 jail terms and placed on the Sex Offender Register.

1. King has at least a 13 year head start on Morrison, so there's still time yet!!
2. One of Morrison's convictions is for assaulting his own mother - ffs!!

The point I was trying to make is that there are people who do things to other people cos maybe they deserved it (Eric Cantona was mentioned)- i.e they are not a general threat to society. And there are people who are a danger to you just because you happen to inhabit the same space as them (Marlon King) i.e - they may decide to drive at 100mph and accidentally kill you. It is my opinion that Morrison's character traits probably lean more towards Marlon King rather than Eric Cantona.

Apologies, you are correct it should have said 'charges' not 'convictions'
He was cleared of all charges, so if you wanted it to be a fair representation you wouldn’t include it at all.
You also said one of his convictions as if he’d had multiple occurrences. I believe the only thing he’s been convicted of is witness intimidation when he was a teenager, which he owned up to.
Not trying to paint him as a saint, however you are being deliberately OTT with your language and examples inorder to support your viewpoint.
He isn’t comparable to our signing of King, he really isn’t.

It was always likely to be the case. The chances of Morrison getting a contract, and seeing significant game time, and making any sort of positive impact are slim to none. He's never done it before, he won't with us.
He won’t with us seems rather certain. How do you know?

Players don't suddenly turn it around at 26, when they've shown nothing in their career up to that point.

He's played in much weaker leads to negligible effect. For all his ability I believe he simply isn't cut out for the professional game.

If we do sign Morrison, then I think the signing he'd be most similar to is Kevin McDonald.

Another very gifted midfielder, too good for that Division, but a bit lazy sometimes, had a chequered past and we had him on trial pre season

Well, he thinks it's worth giving him a trial. He hasn't signed him yet.

He also thought Ched Evans was worth taking a punt on. Not everything works out.
He didn’t think Ched was worth a punt.
That wasn’t his decision.

I seem to remember there was some debate about that. Didn't he say at the time that it was ultimately his decision? I might be mis-remembering.

Why would this injury cut his trial short and make us say adios? We have a game on Tuesday. Against Burton Albion. Who are in league 1 which is the same level McGoldrick was tested at against Bradford before getting signed.

I’d suggest it was/is slightly different. McGolderick at the point at which he came on trial to us, was an established championship level player and rep of Ireland international. It was more a question of monitoring him physically for injuries, there were very few questions about his ability level. He’d played 22 champ games the season before.

Morrison on the other hand has been wanking his time/life away, and the last time he played at the required standard was 5 years ago on 30th August 2014, when he came on for the last 32 mins of West Ham v Southampton.

Morrison's fitness might be a major reason if we don't offer him something. He couldn't stay match fit in Sweden and this foot injury he has had a while apparently and it couldn't come at a worse time when you're trying to prove your match fitness. Hope he gets to show what he can do.

There was stuff said in the court case that I can’t be arsed to/don’t want to bring up

I hope this lad gets a chance and takes it. Up until now, he has not responded well to those who have tried to help him.
While I place great trust in Wilder’s methods, I hope he doesn’t end up spending all his time on Morrison, to the detriment of other team and individual nurturing.

I say give the lad every opportunity, on the understanding that management cannot afford to devote more time to him than any other member of the team.

How do you quantify 'nothing'?

I wish my football career was as nothing as Morrisons has been.

Yes but I imagine you weren't once Manchester United's best prospect in a decade. He's gone from that to, what, half a decent spell at QPR and nothing anywhere else. He's played in Italy, Sweden and bloody Mexico without pulling up any trees.

Richard Cadette had posted that he's acquitted himself well on trial so we'll have to see how it pans out. But if he plays a major role in a top flight team at this stage in his career I'll stand hanging.

He's played 100 games in nearly 10 seasons; 55 games in the championship, 18 in Liga MX, 17 in the prem, 6 in Allsvenskan and 4 in serie a. It'll be a big ask a.) to raise his game and b.) keep away from the distractions of manchester.

Offer him a low basic with high incentive bonuses, one year contract with our option to extend after six months. If he turns out to be a twat we can just terminate his contract and pay him off.

I wish some people would give this kid a chance before jumping down his throat. Wilder is considering giving him a chance and I think that should be good enough for other people to give him a chance. It's a risk we know it's a risk as does wilder but a relatively small risk in my opinion in what could turn out to be another brilliant signing if he is to fulfill his potential. Wilder also knows this hence why he is considering it. It might work it might not but by getting on the kids back before he has even kicked a ball isnt going to help the kid it it. Wilder has a proven track record of getting the best out of his players and I'm more than happy to see wilder have a go with Morrison if that's what he decides. The kid has been branded as a super star by numerous managers and trainers all be it they have never managed to get the best out of him and he has struggled with issues etc but wilder might be able to put a cap on it and hopefully he can kick on with us. He is 26 now so surely sees this as a last chance to get back into the best league in the world and really show what he can do wilder likes people with some thing to prove and I'd surely say Morrison fits this description. I think some people just need to give the lad a chance before saying it isn't going to work before he has even played a minute for us.
