Do people actually think Dowell can start for us next year in the 10? We are playing with limited funds, can we afford to spend 5m on a bench player?

1. I fail to see how Sawyers has displayed his ability for the Premier League more than Dowell or Duffy.
2. Freeman will not cost £7-8 million
3. Dack will not cost £7-8 million.
4. Robinson will not cost £7-8 million.

Just curious - how much do you think they will go for?

Robinson might, he's in the last year of his contract. You're right about the others probably.

I like Dowell as a player and he seems a decent pro. But in the PL, the number 10 spot is so essential that we get someone who can create and score goals, because of course we don't have wingers and much of the creativity comes from the number 10 spot, although I appreciate that Baldock and Stevens have done so well down the wings, but they're essentially attacking fullbacks.

We need someone who can improve on Duffy, given Duffy's 33 and often is rotated. For me I can't see Dowell being the man to be the number week in week out. He's gonna be a decent player but we need someone of the quality Harry Wilson or Buendia that Norwich have, not that we'll be signing the latter. Freeman, Canpos or Joe Lolley are the types we should be looking at if we're talking about players we know already. Dowell needs another season in the Championship for me.

Totally agree.

The minute the ref blows the final whistle and Leeds have dumped FLDC out, Tufty should be on the blower to Klopp and saying Harry Wilson will play 30+ games for us next season. After all they owe us after stitching us up with Woodburn!

Seems very average to me. Scores the odd pearler but in general play offers little.

Needs to improve his positional awareness if he's gonna cut it in the prem. He can though he needs time with the right coaching staff. I'd take him.

Sawyers players deeper than a 10 - he’s more a box to box Fleck type.

Potentially a good player but where would you play him in our setup?

Wide right or in the Duffy role. He's very quick and skilful, good feet, direct, he can take defenders on inside or outside and has plenty of potential for improvement. He's a talented player who I think needs a bit of an arm around him at times after being loaned out by City all over the place, he just needs a manager to bring out the best in him.

Thought he had only every RW. I have only ever seen him play a couple of times so I am not overly familiar with his attributes. Do you think he could be re-trained to play CAM/RWB?

Wide right?

Yep, but anywhere across the field behind the strikers and he'd do a good job, he has real quality if he can find someone to bring it out, and I think Wilder could be the man to do it.
I think our overlapping centre backs will be curtailed a bit this year, we'll get murdered on the break if that mayhem continues, so more natural wide men will be required so that the centre backs venture forward a bit less, allowing Baldock and Stevens to keep pushing on, and if they link up well with the likes of Roberts it would be excellent.

I think he'd be ideal for a Wilder team, He linked up very well at Celtic with overlapping full backs like Lustig and Tierney in a team that often had centre halves in the opponents half

I liked him, and would have him back.

He's got a lot to learn but he's also got a lot of that there talent.

Available for £4m according to the Sun this morning. Got to be worth a bid.

Leicester & Celtic after him so obviously Brendan Rodgers is a big fan.

few Leicester mates of mine are getting a bit concerned, Maguire possibly on his way along with maybe one or two others and Rodgers chasing Scottish Premiership players....
