Wasn’t aware of the new HSBC offices opening in Sheffield in the summer. Would be a logical tie-in for it to be them then – not sure they’ve sponsored anything in football before either.

They haven't relocated to Sheffield - they're just moving from their office down the back of the cathedral to the new building at the top of The Moor. They don't need the huge amount of space at Griffin House any more as the number of staff there is nowhere near what it once was.

On the same note, their actual HQ in the UK is being moved / has moved to Birmingham. It would perhaps make more sense for them to sponsor City or Villa.

They have actually let less staff go than originally planned, resulting in them having to lease additional office space by the bus station (Acero?) as the new office won't be large enough.

I don't think it'll be HSBC, they're not a platform provider per se. As Linz says, Huawei isn't either - eTrade Connect is a good shout.

It'd be good to get a mammoth like State Street or Blackrock, but that's pie in the sky.

Well, we seem to be a good match in organisational skills

I didn't know about that. Thanks for the info!

I think you deserve some praise Sean lad for the amount of hours you must put in on here...

Nearly 27,000 posts now. Not that it's necessarily a bad thing btw.

I may just think and post quickly....

Little known fact about old Sean, he received the equivalent of a three line whip from the trouble and strife, no if's, and's, or but's, just do as you're told and make a choice for the sake of domestic bliss. He could either continue subscribing to Reader's Wives or take the high road and become a power poster on S24SU. It would take a stronger man than me to bin one of these, but it says volumes about one of the forum's most prolific posters that he decided to continue his no quarter given or asked approach to raising the standards so that others could follow in his steps ;)
