The problem is KMc and BRP won't/can't put the £30/40m into the club upfront before the start of the season and the £120m doesn't come until the end of the season.

And bigger wages to maintain.
The whole point of the parachute payments was to pay off big contracts so the clubs weren't put into financial difficulty. Only problem is fans want it spending on more expensive players.
Can't they get money on loan?
Especially if a large wedge of PL money is pretty much guaranteed - in the same way as we borrowed the still to come fee from the Brooks sale?

But, if Prince or KMc knows they are going to be out of the door, with an unknown settlement, will they sign up to the expenditure/ sign off on a loan?
Remember last season they were arguing about putting in £5m as either a loan or a gift to the club, as it was uncertain what if anything they'd get back.
Now we're in the PL why the fuck wouldn't they get anything back.
The money was needed to get into the PL with the risk of not managing it meaning it could be lost.
Now we're there that argument should be irrelevant

Back on the player front,
I think because we don't play the tippy tappy way, the kind of players we'll want won't be the same kind of player most of the big hitters will be after..in fact they will most probably be the one's they don't want..

Not if one of them is looking at an exit strategy. Business decisions you'd take if you were planning to stay and build the club aren't necessarily the same as if you're planning to leave, or think you'll be pushed out.
I hope the decisions they make are sensible, and they fund the club adequately, like they did last season. All I'm saying is it complicates it.

Whatever we get, you can probably add another £10 million to it from another Brooks payment and Che Adams sale

Given the new income, the club’s desire to remain in the top flight and Wilder’s reputation at using transfer budgets well.....

I would be amazed and astonished if we didn’t spend at least £30m on 4 or 5 new signings in the summer. Equally I don’t really care how much we spend as long as we’re competitive and give ourselves a chance. If the most important signing comes in for £500,000 then even better!

Haha yeah is that why he’s practically gifted him the club. And let the prince buy him fully out.
The only reason kevs bothered again is cause we’re doing well

Exactly why. Then HRH changed the goalposts. £25 -£30 million is hardly a gift is it?

But...

He then committed himself to £2 million or so in legal fees well before at least a play off place or promotion was guaranteed. Not a couple of months ago. Before the start of the season in fact.

You need to try joined up thinking a bit more or at least do a bit of research.

You need to try and be less patronising and try and have a conversation with someone.

It’s hardly rocket science is it pal McCabe was getting bored and fed up hence why he found the prince. He gave him half the club for a quid he couldn’t wait to get rid.

Yeah that’s probably something to do with him writing in the contract that the prince can buy him out.

Let's go back to your original comments about McCabe only being interested again because we were doing well. Then look at the timescale of events in the legal case. You'll see McCabe has still been involved virtually all the time while the Prince has only rocked up once we looked like getting automatic

Bored? He didn't want to fund ongoing losses. £1? Here we go again. Actually it was initially £1 for the Blades Leisure Ltd share and £10million in shares in SUFC Ltd.

What kind of legal agreements where there was joint ownership wouldn't include buy out arrangements ? It's pretty standard.

I think we'll be surprised how little Wilder touches of the actual tv money, at least to an extent.

1. He's clearly looking at giving the current players on the whole a fair go. With 25 players being registered and Chris not really favouring too many young pups, there isn't going to be a huge space in the squad.

2. He seems adament not to do the same as Fulham. The worst of both worlds. Spend 100m and end up probably worse off.

3. Could this be the pre-season that some of the chucks come home to roost?

Maguire to Old Trafford will do the rounds once more. What's that? 20% of 20% of Hull's profit from his sale? 80m take 16.5m. 1.3m coming our way.

Brooks to Old Trafford am sure will be linked, with midfielders and forwards tipped to depart. 50m minus say 12m. So 20% of 38m? 7.6m.

Adams, 15m to any number of clubs. So 20% of 13m.

11.5m there already. Depending on your targets. That's one, even two players that Chris might fancy.

He could also do worse looking at those Fulham players who didn't get given a chance.

I’m taking about 5/6 years ago mate the original reason the prince showed up was because he was desperate for someone to take over the club hence why he sold half the club for the price Of a loaf of bread.
Hence why it stipulated in the contact the prince can buy him out which is why we have a court battle right now

We need to spend circa £50mil just to survive.
We are in desperate need of pace and strikers, the quality we'll need to survive buying from within the British Isles will cost a lot. Obviously the 2 most expensive attributes on the market.

I disagree mate. We are entitled to 20% of what Hull get over what we sold him for.

Of Hull get add ons above and beyond our initial share of the fee then there is no reason SUFC would not be entitled to then. I'll ask James Shield to confirm. That's very much my understanding. Why would we not? It's a % of what Hull make on him, be that sooner or later.

I would expect it will be "a percentage of his next sale" (Hull>LCFC) rather than "a percentage of any money hull makes, including future sell on fees"

You can ask James Shield, but I very much doubt he'd know. It's a matter between Hull and LCFC, nothing to do with ourselves.

We dont even know if Hull do have a sell on clause either. You're presuming they do, then you're also presuming were entitled to a percentage of that too.

I shall. It is. We don't. I am. I am. You're presuming the opposite. I'll Twitter the fellow. Then three of us can show we don't know No need for you and I to be alone in this :D

Wrong again

During the coverage on Look North on Monday, there was a piece about the money we could expect and how much we should invest in playing staff - the advice from 'experts' was about £40-50m.

I'm sue that Wilder and his team will already have a list of potential targets they have in mind. I can see that being a combination of top-end championship players that want to play in the Premier League, good players who are on the fringes of Premier teams and probably a couple of loans of top young talent from one of the top teams such as Chelsea or Citeh or ManYoo.

I'm sure that solving the keeper position will be high on the agenda. I'd expect us to pursue Henderson, but I think that will depend on De Gea's situation and we may not be able to wait until Man Utd have resolved that if it's drawn out.

I wouldn't be surprised if we brought in Madine permanently, though I don't think we'll pursue Hogan.

I'm absolutely confident in Chris and his team to make some astute signings.

You’re both arguing about a potential £1.3m when we’re going to receive £100m. It’s a pittance and neither of you can back up your arguments with facts. Why bother?

I just see us going down the Burnley approach. I can’t think of many players that they have signed from the premier league. All have been young up and coming champ players, some with experience of the premier league and gone down

Gibson
Vydra
Woods
Brady
Taylor
Tarkowski

To name a few of this type of signing

I didn’t see it but I’m guessing these ‘experts’ are just academics i.e. they know a lot about something they’ve never actually done.

What they’re trying to get across, which I very much agree with, is that a promoted club shouldn’t be carrying a wage bill much more than £40m, because that’s roughly what the parachute payments will cover if you go down. So the rest can be spent on transfer fees or upgrades to infrastructure.

At some point in the future, the club will be under pressure from the fans to ‘progress’ and will be tempted to keep increasing the wage bill to bring in ‘better players’. Once it gets to a certain level, it can be catastrophic if a club gets relegated as they can’t cover the wage bill and may be stuck with lots of overpaid shit that no one wants.

That’s what’s happened to the likes of Stoke, Villa etc.
