I really do believe Blackie can only judged when he has a decent amount of fit players to choose from. Will be interesting to see how many are fully fit after the international break

It will be one game too many. he is incapable of turning this around.

You forgot to add '...with a depleted squad...' to the end of that statement, but then that wouldn't match with your campaign against Blackwell. As i've said before, i think he can only be judged once he has at least half a dozen of the injured lads back and available.

I'm firmly on the fence with regards to Blackwell, i'm not saying he will turn it round, i'm not saying he won't, but i refuse to judge him until the necessary resources, current players, are back fit and available.

The internationl break is crunch time for the Physio's!!

views from last night

penalties - for me both were penalties no questions asked
walker - how that dingle didnt get sent off for the stamp on walkers back is beyond me and then for walker to get booked is laughable
davies thought he was lucky not to get sent off seen many reds for what he did

thought we showed good spirit last night i no we always go on about injuries and i for one am sick of this been the excuse, but we aint having the rub of the green on that front unfortunatly.

also to robins the arrogant dingle bastard, you werent great last night you was against a team of unfit sheffield united players not the nearly full team u dick head, they were both stone wall penalties and no there was no decisions in our box that could have been penalties dont clutch at straws. Yes davies could have been sent off but also ur centre back could have for a clear stamp. i thought the bloke was ok before last night, now he goes in the same book as all the rest of the wanka managers out there who come across like theyve had a cucumber shoved up there arse.

I thought Shotton's stamp on Walker's back was accidental as it seemed to be a result of the two players' boots getting tangled up.

That said, Anderson Silva kicked someone in the back in the first half, Killa maybe and he should have been sent off for that.

But we've had a decent amount of fit players to pick from.

The Newcastle match was the breaking point for me - the use of Jordan Stewart on the wing just typified our bizarre approach to team selection.

Agreed which is why I think he's probably got until Xmas unless the shoes off brigade get their way again.

I thought the same intially but when replayed again it looks very nasty and he had his leg steadied long enough to place it firmly down on the deck not on walker.

Amazed you thought the stamp on Walker was accidental - blatantly deliberate in my view. Thought it was possibly a straight red but as he'd already been booked there's no doubt he should have been sent off.

we have 2 weeks nearly til our next game which is at home to bottom of the league sack him now get a new man in and he has time to get to know the players and the injured couple back

It was Treacy. I also thought Shotton's kick at Walker was deliberate. I think Davies would have been sent off for headbutting Macken if Doyle hadn't pushed him back.

I think we were a bit lucky with both penalties. As long as the keeper got a touch on the ball (he did), he's basically just lying there, with Evans running into him. Walker also went down a bit easily, although Hamill was stupid to challenge him and sort of asked for it.

Although he won't go now, there's a lot to be said for having a new manager as some of the injured players come back for completely fresh impetus.

I agree to a certain extent but it's not just as simple as looking at the team he puts out on match day. How much training do you think Kyle, Wardy, Del, Treacy, Davies did last week ? Add to that the long term injuries, the players who have had niggling injuries over the past few months and it's not difficult to see why training must have been a nightmare and the fact we've looked an unorganised shambles at times.

Blackie still amazes with some of his selections but I think you have to have a certain amount of sympathy overall for the state things have been in recently. As someone pointed out elsewhere, it's fair to assume that last nights back four have probably never played together

I suppose so, but by the same token how much of what Blackwell says can we believe.

"Kyle Walker has picked up an injury tonight that will keep him out for 6 weeks at least".

Who started last night and looked fit for 90 minutes?

It wouldn't surprise me if some of the unfit players are actually much fitter than we've been lead to believe...

The comment on Walker was about 30 mins after the injury and to be fair, he said the same about Killa last night 'if it's what we think it is'.

I think you only have to look at the way we (and certain players) have been playing to see that he's not joking !

Looking at our line up yesterday, it was only Morgan, Naysmith and Monty missing from what is Blackwell's prefered XI, wasn't it?

Not entirely sure on that one. But, if Morgan and Monty were playing we'd have definitely had a much better chance. we've missed Monty massively in recent weeks

Can see the logic in it, but I really don't think McCabe will think about sacking him until the injuries ease and he has a chance of picking a fitter side from a better selection of personnel

So what do you think would be his preferred XI, given all players were fit and not suspended. I think it would be the following:

Kenny
Walker Morgan Kilgallon Naysmith
Monty
Williamson----Harper
Evans---------------Ward
Henderson

Subs: Bennett, Davies, Geary, Treacy, Cotterill, Camara, Quinn

Why's he continually sat on the bench then?

They've been too quiet for me on Williamson as if not all's well. I'm hoping he needs a bit more time to make sure everything's OK but as you suggest, it's worrying that Squinny is being picked ahead of him if he is fit enough to play.

I thought we were awesome last night. The passing and movement was superb and we peppered their goalie with shots all night. The dingles were
clueless, they hardly had a kick and scored with their only two shots on goal.

We were playing in red.....right?

Not too sure about the subs but I don't think that's too far off the mark. It will be interesting to see whether he goes for Treacy in January, bearing in mind he's already played Cresswell there and he's a done deal.

It's very easy to say they missed a load of chances. Granted, on another night Macken wouldn't have fluffed those sitter, but you can also say the same for Henderson - on another day he'd have had a hat-trick before half time (the 2 mistimed headers and the blocked shot at the far post). Yes they hit the woodwork, but then so did Treacey after that great run, had that rebound fallen to a sharper Jamie Ward he'd have buried it.

Yes they had more chances but to say we deserved nothing is crazy IMHO. The penalties were both soft, but at the same time clumsy challenges which were blatant penalties.

I think killa and cotts are done deal in january need to start looking at who will play when they have both gone

You're probably right but I think we're talking about the team he would have chosen given a decent bill of health so far.

I imagine (or hope) we've got someone lined up as Killa's replacement (maybe Wood), Wardy will probably play wide right for the foreseeable and there's always Little, maybe Reid and there's still talk of this guy from Oldham. Despite what I've said elsewhere I think Treacy will go back and we'll bring McSheffrey in on the left.

I'm not saying you're wrong about it by the way, just find it strange that he keeps persisting with SQuinn when Williamson is on the bench.
He made a proper bee-line for him in the summer so you would imagine he wanted him in the first team.
