Neither Burnley or Leeds would be capable of anything that bad. We are undoubtedly worse than both. We'll just have to hope the usual luck returns for the next 3 very winnable games, and get maximum points
Nah. Leeds were bad this morning. Would have lost without James’ wonder strike.
Was a similar game in many ways.
Horrible pitch against a side hoofing and scrapping.

What are you talking about
It's the same team that just put in our best perf of the season
Choudhury spent the whole first half stood with our DF. Limiting our ability to progress the ball forward. Many times he was deeper than our CBs FFS. We needed to win this game and we used one of our MF positions in a player playing deeper than our CBs. This is why we had no control in the MF as Oxford had more bodies there.

Screw me sideways, what a ghastly horrible watch that was.
Took me right back to League 1 days and the constant hoofball we used to play.

A hard, concreted bobbly mess of a pitch in a primitive stadium against an agricultural up and under team.
Well done to Oxford, scrapping for survival. Got the luck of the bounce one time and that was the difference.
Proper players adapt

So frustrating, we seem to struggle to know how to break teams down at times.

I’m never a fan of just throwing on a load of attacking players and hopefully for the best. Surely there is something we can do tactically that’s better than that?
Throwing a load of attacking players on and hoping for the best is straight out of the Warnock and his management style playbook.

It leaves only one option, hoof it forward and hope and have no midfield to control the game

The game was lost because of a shit attitude, not because tactics or player selection was wrong

I'd like to say Wilder and the players will learn, but they won't, they'll be as shit, half arsed, slow and pathetic as ever the next time they are in a position with a golden opportunity

Sadly I don't think it will be this season where they get another such opportunity

Disastrous result. Performance wise though, we've played like that away from home all season and gotten away with it. It was bound to bite us at some point.
How many good performances have we had this season

Windy shit ground and a bobbly pitch… but apart from the excuses… we just couldn’t get going. Hamer was shite today which doesn’t help when he’s our best player.
Bounce back Tuesday under the lights… 6 to go! 👊⚔️

That’s Wilders one and only tactic apart from a blood and guts scrapping a result. Can’t see owners giving him big money to spend if they’re as smart as they are supposed to be

How many good performances have we had this season

Probably half a dozen or so?

In a lot of games we look turgid, disjointed, ponderous, the lot. We have been getting away with it due to having individual quality at this level, or a 15-20 minute spell where it clicks which is enough to win.

Which was set up to exploit the counter attack. Unlike today where we should absolutely have gone out to try and impose ourselves on the opposition
We had 75% possession. That’s imposing ourselves. The problem today was we tried to play football on a hard bobbly mess of a pitch.
Every bounce was chest high and every pass bobbled like crazy.
No wonder Oxford get hammered on good pitches away from home.

Reset go again. Not the performance or result we wanted. However still in our hands. Beer time now.

Total waste of a game… I knew in my gut that we wouldn’t capitalise… ducking idiots….

Coventry game a complete waste…

Leeds won’t drop many more… they’ve handed us a chance and we’ve bottled it.

seems we can’t hang onto top spot for more than a week at a time - bottled it.

If Hamer is still with us next season, someone needs to get into his fitness levels as he’s totally off it.

If Souza is fit why isn’t he playing.

Why didn’t we come out of the traps against Oxford so bloody passive…. Absolute joke.

Fuming.

Wow….Hamer takes a corner and it goes miles behind the goal posts….totally wasted corner.

This is such a harsh lesson…totally casual 1st half….arguably deserve to be losing 1-0.
2nd half its been all United, attack after attack, corner after corner but we’ve not created anything clear cut.
Ball ricocheting around their box but it always seems to fall to their player. Thrown away 3 points here.
Starting well and taking the lead is always better than tossing it off, going behind and trying to rescue it

As minutes tick by it becomes more and more desperate, chances get snatched at and decision making becomes dafter and dafter

Pointless expecting a Wilder team to get on the front foot from the start, the attitude will always be, a draw is good but if we can steal it, great

No point having 75% possession if you don't have the right personnel on the pitch to exploit that superiority though.

Anyway, we're still 2nd and move on. Mid week looks geared up for possible slip ups so we have to concentrate on getting 3 points.

Leeds have taken 7 points from the last 6, we've taken 13. I don't see why we should think Leeds won't drop any more points.

At there at in form Boro on Tues.

Hope they give him nothing

If it's not out of League One with a chance of becoming a decent Championship player he's clueless

“Coventry game a complete waste…”
Please explain the logic in this statement.

Without that win we would now be 3rd so how is it a waste. Stop being such a drama queen.

God fuc.ing help us next season then.

Yes and Leeds and Burnley have two tough away games again. Lots of twists and turns yet.

Could this be the day Tom Cannon becomes a legend? Seriously!!!
Can someone please tell me what he brings to this team? I'm sure he's a lovely lad but has zero impact for us this season. There's a song about wasting money spinning in my head right now

that is highly frustrating result. i know we are very experienced & we could likely afford 2 defeats & still go up. because 4 wins & a draw doesn't change we just have to get that from 6 games instead of 7 now

but this was such huge chance to open up a big gap & pile pressure on to leeds, with there very tough midweek game . to get that dreadful performance at the worst possible time. so frustrating
