MOM Fleck for me with not a single poor one in the team, so can we have no Clarke kicking posts as he was good in first half.

They were all at a minimum 7/10s from what I saw. Nobody had a bad game, we looked confident throughout. Some excellent finishes following some decent play too.

We have an identical record to Derby now and we are only out of the playoff zone on alphabetical order.

We should have signed Oztumer ............................. NOT

I was just about to ask the question on why we’re the ones in 7th.

Genuine question, what would happen if it were the end of the season and our records were identical?

Fair play tables?

Results against each other and then toss of a coin amazingly.

Great performance, really good all around. After we got Ameobi under wraps 25 mins in they had nothing to give.

The only slight criticism is that until then we always looked like conceding when they went forward. Solid after that though.

MoM Fleck but Duffy and Basham were also excellent, Clarke good first half (assist for us and cleared one off the line at the other end) and McGoldrick good second half. Sharp did a lot of running and chasing without much reward.

Henderson solid without anything really to do.

Norwood almost nonchalant with his passes at times but such a good player to sit in and dictate play, a real quarterback type performance.

Happy with the commentary on ifollow and the score and time in the corner, will buy whenever I can this season as it’s great for a fiver and can switch from iPad to phone while I’m reading to the kids!

though very happy with the performance, Bolton looked very poor, especially in 2nd half.

Not sure that's ever happened before theres a few records that decide table positions goals scored conceded etc

Freeman's goal! Even better than the one in League 1!

I agree with all that except that I never thought they once looked like scoring. We defended sensibly and calmly. Hendo didn’t have to make anything you’d call a save. I can’t remember brushing off Hoofers quite so easily as that before.

We comprehensively outplayed them all over the pitch. Some of our passing was an absolute delight to watch. They were training cones at times, they could do nothing about us.

Fleck MoM with silver medals for Duffy and Bash. Honourable mentions for all the rest. No passengers in a really satisfying ninety minutes.

Well done Tufty and the lads. Wine, ale or both to follow.

I agree, I don’t think they looked like scoring but I had a feeling for 20 mins that we’d gift them something. We didn’t and I relaxed after a bit. Probably a function of listening to the commentary along with ifollow where Edwards shits his pants every time the opposition go near our back 3.

Cracking display today and mcgoldricks volley may have been a goal of the season contender if it had gone in. All in all a thoroughly deserved 3pts. UTB

Yes I had pictures and RS commentary today. Not sure I can say how, but really enjoyed our performance. One game at a time of course but I’ll borrow Ian Dury’s words... one, two three ⚽⚽⚽

How difficult is it for some people to not be biased? 2 of you on here saying they didn’t look like scoring - really? I was there and they looked like scoring twice. Both in the first half, one a shot that we cleared off the line, the other a header from a cross that Henderson injured himself in blocking.

Those were the only occasions though, that I recall in the whole game. We completely played them off the park. It was a Masterclass in passing football.

If you’d said, “ we never looked like losing” I’d totally agree. It was men v boys.

Ok, I’ll change the wording to “they didn’t look dangerous apart from on 2 occasions where we dealt with the threat”. If they’d have scored either they might have looked like winning.

Excellent performance, Fleck Duffy and Norwood controlled Midfield...completely outclassed the trotters (pigs)

That’s better! ;)

I know exactly what you mean and was being pedantic (for a change ;)).

It was a a superb performance. We never looked in trouble or in any danger of losing control of the game. I thought our first effort on goal had gone over the line, but I couldn’t tell from where I was sat (amongst the Bolton fans).

They were pretty depressed I can tell you. I thought Amoebi did ok for them, he showed some good skill at times, but the other Bolton players couldn’t read him and he’s no pace on the ball. In fact, he looked crippled the way he was moving about.

That performance reminded me of a top tier club v a lower league club. The gulf in class was huge. I posted before today that I thought Bolton were in a false position and they are. They will be mid table at best in a few weeks time.

As for our lads...well... I think we are starting to find our feet again after a slow start. The prospect of Coutts coming back and playing alongside Norwood, Fleck and Duffy is exciting. I don’t think there’ll be many midfields better than that one in this division. I still think we need to improve up front though. Jayzus, a fast winger or centre forward would have had that game won by half time today. Although, we just about did that anyway.
